Cornell Grad Student here.
Don't forget to mention CASE/UAW - the group that is trying to unionize grad students at Cornell. Yes, that's UAW as in United Auto Workers. Here is a thread about this silliness:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/684194/posts. The vote for whether or not to unionize happens in October. I know the chances that grad students will not elect to form a union are slim to none. But it would be good if some opposition got some coverage from the Times. Thanks for reading...

Best reason to pretend you're a college student
To cover up for the fact that you are an aging, overweight, brain-fried refugee from the Sixties awash in a sea of LSD colored liberal ideas discarded by the rest of the world as it went forward to adulthood.
Best reason to pretend you're a townie
To explain to your out of state relations (the ones that aren't married to each other) why you have never amounted to much and are always seen with young boys coming out of the local adult bookstore.
Best reason to love Ithaca
It keeps a good portion of the upstate, goat copulating left wing wackos in one place so that the CDC can isolate whatever brain-damaging virus that caused it and limit the scope of the surgical strike required to mop it up.
Best reason to leave Ithaca
Because it is the City of Evil!

I just noticed that they changed the last few questions since yesterday (I wonder if it was the influx of "Ithaca is the City of Evil" answers to "best reason to leave Ithaca"), in case anyone wants to delete their cookies and FREEP again.
Once again, my suggested answers follow but feel free to come up with your own:
Best reason to run for local government-- To get a republican elected/Stop the Green party/Stop the Democrats
Best new development proposal for Ithaca-- Wal Mart
Best way to anger an Ithacan--Be a republican
Best way to make an Ithacan happy--spout liberal cliches
Best reason to attend a Common Council meeting--watch them flush our tax dollars down the toilet of socialism
