I'm sorry you have a thin skin..

See you posted again before my reply was typed out. But thanks for doing the report, TheLurker. It's nice to see someone is on the ball.

I'm sorry you can't read.

I'm going downstairs to take a dump, and when I'm finished, I might tell everyone about it.

1.) not a plesant thought...I would rather not kiss anyone there....
2.)It is hard to take someone sreiously that allows small comments that are not meant to be obnoxious personally.
3.) Texas Mom is still right!

I agree that there may not be anything serious going on, but nevertheless, the powers that be issued a civil emergency for the state with no explanation of why. And it is curious that the police are not automatically notified when one of these warnings is issued. I'm glad that this seems to be a false alarm or at least an overstated one, but it tends to be this sort of thing that makes people less likely to pay attention to real emergencies. And I think TLX has been unfairly castigated for posting this breaking news.

I have a son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren who live in Georgia as well as many friends. Of course I'm concerned as well.. When I hear about things like this my first thought is the airport and my son is a pilot who happens to be flying today.

1. You are wrong
2. She is wrong
3. You need to take something as important as a civil emergency announcement a little more seriously. Grow up.

Hillary was spotted riding her broom in the night sky. Please be complete and provide direction and velocity so we may properly prepare!

Not to mention that they haven't issued a televised retraction for the error. You'd think that would be in order.
To: TheLurkerX
1.) You are acting like a child. I seem not to be the one that needs to grow up!
2.) She is not wrong! You just don't want to admit it!
3.) It is not a civil emergency, so get over it! Check the facts before you post something!

My first thought is usually 'nuclear, Soviet Union', but that just gives away my age group! Very glad that this was a false alarm.

OK, since you are apparently on par with a turnip, let me explain it to you. She misread my post. That makes her wrong. The state, albeit in error, issued a civl emergency warning. I was not wrong to post it. I restate the obvious: Grow Up.
To: TheLurkerX
Not to mention that they haven't issued a televised retraction for the error. You'd think that would be in order. They're probably hoping that if they don't say anything, people will just forget about it or think that they were mistaken in what they saw. To quote one of my least favorite singers....'sorry seems to be the hardest word.'

I think you're right. It disheartens me to see so many people beat me over the head for bringing this to attention. Especially someone who is part of the CAP. You'd think they'd take things a little more seriously. And sorry seems to be in short supply by the posters here as well.

And I think TLX has been unfairly castigated for posting this breaking news. Sheesh! No on has castigated anyone for posting this news.
Getting hysterical doesn't do any good. No one has mentioned he shouldn't have posted it. My only complaint is TLX has a thin skin and is going off on people in here.
If the instructions were to tune into channel 10 or whatever number it was,.. By darn I would tune into channel 10.. Instead of trying to speculate on line as to what the emergency is, if indeed there is an emergency..
TLX said the 911 operator was rude. Also said he/she called a non emergency 911.. There is no such thing as a non emergency 911. 911 is a number. The non emergency number is NOT 911. Maybe TLX should make himself/herself clear. I am not going to say anything else on the matter. It has gotten rediculous..
To: TheLurkerX
Oh, trust me here.... if it was a real emergency, CAP would be out there already..... CAP has nothing to do with this, since there is nothing! Don't make comments unless you know what you are talking about, sir. We are always there to respond when it is needed in Civil Defense.... remember us when you need help! We are always there, if help is needed!

Good, we'll consider the ankle biting dropped. Good night all!
To: Fred Mertz
Good night, Fred!
To: Texas Mom
I didn't call 911, I called the non-emergency number for the 911 dept. given to me by the police. And it did say to tune to channel 10. I also explained in a later post, which you didn't bother to read apparently, that the feed was cut off before they finished issuing the details. That is what the 911 dept. told me when I called back.
