I am realtively new here, but, I just don't understand these anti-Freepers. I've been here almost four years, and I don't understand them either...

Then would you guys please explain to me why I, a Bush supporter, seem to spend a lot of my time feeling like I have to defend him here? Why I cringe when I log in, because thread after thread seems to be critical of him, and few threads seem to give him credit for ANY of the good he's done? I think you might be describing my point.
Why would it make you "cringe" to come here and see an opinion different from your own? One of the things I liked about Free Republic that is becoming rarer, is debate. I may be alone in this, but I find it boring to read 100 messages all in agreement.
Might you consider that our differences might be what allows for growth and creativity? If we all agree, all the time, what is the point of discussion?

When MurryMom posts it is like having our own personal Eleanor Clift.

Nonsense, gibberish, an old fool drooling while his stool is pooling in the bottom of his over-taxed adult Depends.
that's my comment on your comment...

I said I was a new MEMBER. I've been reading this site for over a year now. I think I have read plenty.

Hang in there Jim!!

Given your own (past?) major role in "anti-freeping," I find your (misleading?) statement amazing (but typical of you).

here is Joe Everyman so he says! Really big words too, he is a big man! lol
Joe Everymans Job:
One of my jobs is Director of a Special Investigation Unit for a major corporation and deal with fraud, embezzlement, and financial impropriety investigations on a daily basis. I, also, am employed in a corporate legal department as a consultant. Finally, I specialize in Indemnification agreements, contractual law, and Insured Agreements. Hope that helps.

Works for Rubin LOL

That is true. People here complain about Libertarians, in Mass we need them to keep the RINO's honest. Aside from social issues they are down the line conservitives. Think of Libertarians as conservitives that haven't gtown up yet.
To: usconservative
Was that intentional? Yes. Part the agreement to participate on the FAB is that we not disclose comments or issues discussed there outside the FAB board. The original members insisted on that so everyone would feel comfortable in being open and frank in their comments to Jim.
Even though FAB is not active at the moment, I still personally feel it is important to observe the privacy and confidentiality I promised to the members who took part. Hence, my reluctance to reply to your comment. I could have made this statement in my original reply but didn't want to embarass you, but, since you pressured me and implied some duplicity, I was compelled to.
BTW - One of the reasons the FAB is not active is because some members felt it would be okay to not only discuss and forward comments made by others, but to send them to the antifreepers for posting on their board.

I just wish jolly and Joy in DC would make an appearance. I remember meeting jolly at the MfJ in Oct 98. Really liked her.
Dirtboy has it right. Some people have an agenda, they join an organization to further their goals. When the organization doesn't allow or they see they are getting nowhere, they move on. Some of them feel so strongly that they were wronged, they try to bring down the organization.
I was banned from a site a few months ago. It was a site having nothing to do with politics. A poster had to blast repubs and conservatives in a post. I couldn't let it slide by. I let him have both barrels right back. Got me banned ( and probably him also) for 30 days. I haven't gone back, but I have no intention of disrupting the site.

Jim:
I am seeing names here that I have not seen in at least 4 years, names that bring back memories of the "old days".
Keep up the good work and you can believe that the vast majority of us will back you. I have had the pleasure of meeting you, your lovely wife and John, and I can truthly say that it was a real pleasure.
In times of stress, it is wise to rely upon your real friends. I can assure that on this fourm you have thousands of those.
Have a nice evening there in Fresno and the very best to you and yours.

"A really slick website..." Thankyou, that was my production for her. And WE did it in just a couple weeks working day and night.

Looks like he's a victim of the Clinton jobs program. Remember that one?
"Yeah, Clinton's created a lot of new jobs. Just ask me, I've got three of them!"

Gotta go for now, but I wanted to thank you both for the (obvious) hard work that you have done, and continue to do, to maintain this excellent site. If there is anything I can do to help you, please let me know. Best regards, MTR.
