One of my guilty pleasures is a vid I have, a 2 *HOUR* vid, of Ric Flair's greatest promos...

That guy was one of a kind, and don't you forget it. I'm a fan myself of the Old School Horsemen. Loved all the dirty tricks and double crosses...

"It's so hard to be humble when you're looking as good as Ric Flair!"

"Space Mountain may be the oldest ride in the park, but it's the one with the longest line."

"Diamonds are forever and so are the Horsemen!"

Double A: "There has been one rule of thumb all through professional wrestling that has always held true: When a burglar breaks into your house, you don't squirt him with a waterhose, you pick up something and you bash his brains out with it."

"Intense pain is a wonderful thing, Gene Okerlund. Your life flashes before your eyes, things that are the most important to you become crystal clear. You start to begin to learn the meaning of life. Last week when they stuffed me in that ambulance and I looked across and I saw Flair, Sting, Woman, Bagwell and myself, I realized that we were people brought together not by philosophy, but by necessity. And I started to think, new world order, new world order, where have I heard that? And I remembered in the Good Book it says, 'When the new world order is put into place it signals the beginning of the end of time.' Well, WCW is our world, it's where we live and breathe. And if you want to destroy it, Hogan and The Outsiders, you've already made a mistake that jumps off the page. If you're gonna take a baseball bat to a Horseman, finish the job. Because there's one rule of gang fighting. See, we are the original gang and we're the most vicious in all of professional wrestling history. They send one of yours to the hospital, you send two of theirs to the morgue."

"Considering the lack of prospects among the NC GOP these days (the party had to bring E. Dole out of Washington to run), this wrestler might win the party nomination. But a fall campaign is something else."

Flair sure couldn't do any worse than Richard Vinroot did, could he?

Unlike Liddy Dole, Flair actually lives in North Carolina and isn't just a carpetbagger being parachuted in on us.

One of the few shortcomings of Jesse Helms is that he did not build up a political organization to assist like-minded Republicans nor put forth a successor to himself. I know he helped to get John East and Lauch Faircloth elected senator, but neither were successful in the long run. And he never did much to recruit serious gubernatorial candidates in NC. Of course, the fact that Jesse concentrated on being senator is one of the reasons that he was immensely effective. He will be sorely missed in January. And by March the voting record of EDole will be shown to be decidedly non-Helms in nature.

I think cross dressing wrasslers as politicians should be the exclusive domain of Minnesota. Ok, Wisconsin can be included too. At least the part belonging to Wellstone.

I thought you mind find this amusing, at one time, Rick Flair went to a Jesse Helms fund raiser (they are friends), at this time, Ted Turner owned WCW, he supposedly went ballistic. Turners hatred for Helms knows no bounds, and he had donated money to Helms opponent, so having his employee stumping and helping to raise money for Helms drove him nuts. Anything that could piss off turner like that always will make me smile.

As I recall, in 1985, Helms and Turner joined forces in an abortive attempt to buy CBS and make it into a "conservative" network. Thereafter, Turner turned far to the left.

That might explain why Turner hates him so much.

W-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O! Flair would be the only Republican Governor of North Carolina ever elected by only Democrat voters. Only Democrats buy tickets to wrestling farce shows, or the logo crap they offer. Republicans tune in to faux wrestling on TV for laughs, when there is nothing else worth looking at on the other 200 channels-Ozzie Osborn would have a better channce of getting their vote.

Wh-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o would manage Flair's Campaign, Vince McMann? If elected, how would we know when Gov. Nature Boy was pretending and when he was serious? Is Rick Flair his real name or a stage name? Do we really want WWE running the state? Get real! Get the message?

And Inspector Callahan said: "Do you feel lucky, punk!-Do you?" It's all in the script. Wrestlers are actors and nothing else, except for one thing-they do their own stunts. I watch those like Jeff Hardy and Rick Van Damn to name a couple, abuse their bodies and risk their lives, over and over, for fame and maybe fortune if they live long enough and I am impressed. I am impressed that anyone can crave the spotlight or wealth that much and I'm ashamed that laws to protect people from their irresponsible selves, have apparently been rescinded or never existed. I cannot enjoy nor laugh at ladder or hardcore matches, even though I am aware that those garbage cans and lids can be dented by a marshmellow or crushed in the grip of some 98 year old grandma. I saw Jeff Hardy's head miss the bottom of one ladder by mere inches when thrown off another ladder. He was inches from death and I believe that it was the grace of God or maybe luck that spared his life, rather than the script and chorography.

No one can accuse these guys and gals of not being in great shape, very agile and tough as nails. We can doubt the sanity of participants in such near mayhem-least wise when they seek our support in becoming our leaders. Their lives are their's to waste, our right of existance is our's.

They are nuts...I notice Flair always has the same bag of tricks...but it works every time, never gets old. The thumb to the eyes is my fave.

Flair said his first move would be to build a toll road from Charlotte to Myrtle Beach. And he's pro lottery.

Wow that is great. What I like is that the old buddy system would be dead in NC. Remember who is our senate runner for the GOP Dole, wait the primary has not even taken place yet. Oh and Charlotte mayors that is a great group of dolts. This state is not Charlotte. This state is country! Most would rather see Woooooooo than some stiff neck in there. Get a grip and understand that NC aint no posh state but a bunch of rebel wanta be's.
