>>They also need to reform the divorce laws to make divorce harder. Eliminate no-fault divorce and make the one who abandons the marriage without proven cause the one who gives up everything.<<

I am more and more convinced that of all the potential solutions to this epidemic, something along the lines of your statement is by far the best solution I have seen suggested. It would have problems, of course - but it is still the best.

>>Generally speaking, woman want to be cherished, while men want to be bedded.<<

Nope, I've learned by receiving it myself that men want to be honored, even more than they want to be bedded. Getting bedded becomes a substitute for many though...

It certainly is a strong factor, perhaps one which underlies the urge to procreate. I made a similar point on Post 131. You cannot, however, discount the physical drive aspect of it entirely.

You can say that again!

It's very simple, really: if women banded together, refused all sex, didn't marry, and didn't live with men, we would rule the world in a week. The truth is, we don't need men. And we are proving it every day.

The male side seems to already be banding together and refusing to marry.

I suppose what you say can be said by both sides though, especially as we gain the ability to procreate without the two ever coming into physical contact.

The truth is, though, that humans are quite emotional. Men and women are, generally speaking, hard wired to need each other for more than just the pure sexual relationship.

Of course, men can get all the sex they want without committing to a woman, but many have more self respect than to do that. It's sad what men can do to women if they choose.

Those of us that understand the power that we weild as men can be extremely benificial or extremely detrimental to women. It's really our choice. I am of the former group. 8^>
