Another fact about this guy: he was equally unhappy with Clinton (but only because he was jealous of Monica)

5. We've learned that prior to September 11, the Bush Administration was negotiating with the Taliban about a pipeline desired by a U.S.-led energy consortium that would cross through Afghanistan. When the Taliban balked, the U.S. negotiators told them they either could accept a "carpet of gold" or face a "carpet of bombs." Hold on a minute...that account is from that ridiculous French bestseller alleging that the government carried out the attacks itself! The joquers who wrote that mess don't have a shred of evidence to prove that conversation even took place, much less with that incriminatingly phrased threat! And Weiner is stating this as fact?
The Taliban backed away from the deal and refused to hand over Osama bin Laden; shortly after the terror attacks of 9/11, the U.S. began bombing in Afghanistan.
Note how the guy cleverly links the alleged refusal of the "carpet of gold" to the post-attack bombing, as if this was the U.S. making good on its threat rather than issuing a response to the slaughter of some three thousand Americans.
This guy wrote for the Chronicle for 20 years? I doubt even the Chron would let him get away with this tripe.

"And Weiner is stating this as fact?" He's a liberal!
What do facts have to do with it?

If Bernard Weiner has taken us inside the liberal mind, it is, indeed, a frightening place.

Do these people put on blinders when they get up? They don't need to, they sleep in them, lest they have some politicaly incorrect dreams.

Academia dosen't always mean higher learning
Larry Ellison of Sun Microsystem fame was giving the graduation speech at Harvard. He started out by saying "to those who graduating today, you have lost 4 years and a lot of money to get "educated". The Harvard pukes pulled him off the stage.

You mean Kalifornia is not run by commies? That's a surprise, since they sure sound that way. Up around Sacramento, it got so red we had to move away to avoid the contamination.
