Will do.

So when do us with Yankee heritage get our "reparations" for fighting and dying to free their ancestors?

When will they acknowledge that the GOP is:

- the party founded on the principal of the abolution of slavery,

- the party that sponsored the first black congressmen nearly a 100 years before the Demo-rats ever let one of them in,

- the party that ensured that the civil rights amendment was ratified quickly, while Demo-rats were still defending segrigation, and

- the first party who's President first nominated blacks to key ambassadorships, cabinet positions and the Supreme Court?

But we all know this is about political demigogary and not racial harmony. So let them spout their lies and keep getting exposed as the hypocrites that they are. Sooner or later even their densist supporters will see that they are doing themselves more harm than good with this race-baiting.

I found a list of the votes on the reparations resolution. My estimates were correct except for Councilmen Quan and Vasquez being switched. Quan voted for reparations. Vasquez voted against them. Here's the final vote:

COUNCILMEN VOTING AGAINST REPARATIONS: Bruce Tatro
Addie Wiseman
Gordon Quan
Michael Berry
Bert Keller
Mark Goldberg
Mark Ellis
Shelly Sekula Gibbs

COUNCILMAN VOTING IN FAVOR OF REPARATIONS: Mayor Lee P. Brown (sponsored the resolution)
Annise Parker
Ada Edwards
Carol Galloway
Carroll Robinson
Carol Alvarado
Gordon Quan

"Quannel X" had some quotes on the radio today. He will see to it that Houston doesn't get the Olympics in 2012.

If Quanell the Tenth manages to keep the Olympics from Houston, it'll be the only good day's work he ever did. None of my bring-the-games-here friends seem to remember the G8 economic summit here at Rice University about 10 years ago. The city was an absolute shambles.

Quan voted for it? Rats. I'd heard he was sensible.

He won't have the impact to keep Houston from getting the Olympics; we aren't getting it anyway...

At the end of this month the list is narrowed down to 2 names. I do not see Houston being one of those names...
