These RINOS must really hate Sam Brownback. LOL They long for the good old days with Dole and Kassenbaum.

There have been some interesting signs that Shallenburger actually may win on Tuesday. Let's hope for very low turnout because that would bolster him even more.
I actually think Kerr is in second place and Knight is pretty much dead now. It is a good thing the election is next Tuesday though....if there was another three weeks in the campaign, I would have to say Kerr probably would beat Shallenburger with what appears to be very good momentum on his side.

Every television station that pulls that ad should lose their free speech rights as well!!!!!!! Whether they like it or not; whether they agree with it or not; this is still a free country and that ad is LEGAL! Period!
To: AdA$tra
Let me add that these are the same stations that do not pull a butt load of smut fed to our children every single day by the freaks in Hollywood. If we don't like it we are told to TURN IT OFF! Well, back at ya, JERKS!
The issue is a valid one, let me add. If early parole was not the reason Carr was released then they should be rightfully condemned for distorting facts, but pulling the ad should not be an option!

I do not buy the "low turnout will favor Shallenburger" theory, btw. That's media speak for "real Kansans don't like him...so if you're 'in the know' you won't vote for him either."

You know, the KC Red Star has run countless gossip columns (news stories) about the unfounded accusation that Kline was found unfit to be US Attorney when nominated. There is no proof and the rumor is fed by those opposing him and their supporters. Doesn't matter, though. The media just recycles that story over and over and over. NOW TELL ME EXACTLY HOW THAT DIFFERS FROM THIS AD EVEN IF THE AD IS IN ERROR ON THE ISSUE OF WHY CARR WAS REALEASED? hmmm?
MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD......that's what this makes me! The media Nazi's just can't stand it if they don't get to frame the issues their way!
To: AdA$tra
Okay, now that I threw my little fit I learn that there is a legit reason to pull the ad. Apparently, it says "murderer" rather than "accused murderer", and the trial has not taken place yet. That is valid. My apologies to the media--THIS TIME! I still think if they want to be honest and consistent they'd gripe about the "news stories" that are thinly disguised campaign ads or "hits" for or against their candidate.

Graves and Morrison attempted to make the same case Monday, saying the law didn't release violent criminals from prison, as the ad suggests. I have not seen this ad on the Kansas City stations, but I haven't been watching them much the past few days either. Does anyone know if they have aired here?
Carr was supposedly in custody 10 days before the crime spree and was released due to a clerical error. At least that is what I've read.
Maybe the ad is technically in error. I don't know.. But I do know that Carr's committed extremly viscious murders. After raping the victims, and doing other horrible things to them, they shot them and then, they also ran them over with a vehicle. One victim, amazingly, survived and identified Reginald.
The authorities have been on a mission to reduce media attention to this case. The murderers are black, the victims are white and there was unwanted attention because they weren't charged with hate crimes. The moderates want to keep that quiet.
I have not seen the ad and don't know enough facts about the implications made. It bothers however that this seems to resemble the approach the NAACP took with the Bush truck dragging death ads during the 2000 presidential race.
I'm glad Kline's campaign did not produce this and hope they can't be tied to it. It could turn into a negative that the moderates could use against him.
I support Kline.

From what I've read, you are correct that Carr's release was a clerical mistake. It is too bad the group wasn't technically accurate in the ad, since the KC Red Star is working overtime to discredit every conservative running and heap accolades on the RINO's (at least until the primaries are over.

These RINOS must really hate Sam Brownback I bet they do. They hate Kline too.
I saw Brownbacks name recently on a list of possible future VP candidates (quite a ways down the list though). The thought of aspirations of President never struck me before for Brownback, but once the idea was sparked, President Brownback sounds pretty good. Although I'd like to see him there, he's probably too conservative to be allowed to get in the oval office.

Ah the KC Red Star... I just don't know what I'm missing. (Actually I do, it's just that I don't miss it.) I canceled my subscription 3-4 years ago and haven't missed it for a second.

I think that regardless of of what the ad says, I am disgusted by Governor RINO and Mrs. Steckline's use of their bully pulpits. Ms. Carla called a "press conference" in her official capacity as AG to blatently campaign for Adkins. She even occused Sen. Brownback of "threatening" her by proxy using one of his staffers. Then Governor gun-grabber takes this opportunity (right or wrong) to stand up in his official capacity and do the same.
Remember on election night that the early returns come from Topeka, Johnson County and Wichita and do not reflect the Western Kansas votes. Once upon a time, the city vote had little effect on the result. It will be interesting to see how it turns out Tuesday.

I am very proud of Sam Brownback. When he was first elected I truly expected more moderate mush. I have been very pleasantly surprised with his TRUE conservatism. I am even more surprised that it hasn't led more of Kansas in that direction. I was also very pleased to see he followed my lead in becoming Catholic as I did a few years back. His actions in regards to the slavery in the Sudan issues were amazing. There was no politcal hay to be made there, just doing the right thing is obviously enough. Considering the fact that he seems to have heavy approval here at home, one would hope it might rub off on the RINO supporters out there. Tuesday and then November will be very telling.

I have seen this ad and to be honest, it is a bit unfair.
That being said, Adkins is NOT a moderate Republican. He is very liberal and would be considered a democrat if he did not live in such a Republican dominated state. I dare anyone to find out when he supported the last tax cut. RP is right about the slimy KC "Red" Star pulling out all the stops for their leftist candidate. They have been smearing Kline for months. And who is fit for a government position? Does the KC star not wonder why Graves was not selected for a position in the Bush White House?
Adkins is a POS and I remember how he snubbed Katherine Harris at Lincoln Days and publicly denounced her in front of the press - in effect firing a shot at Bush. He should be thrown out of the party.

I am just about ready to go to the newspaper to deliver my letter to the editor, which I have edited a bit after FR suggestions.
I hope it gets printed in time...lol.
The emporia Gazette has a poll that shows Shallenburger way ahead (it is an online poll adn keep in mind I got an e-mail from the Shallenburger campaign to vote, so it may be skewed a bit). However, it shows Bob Knight incredibly far behind and Kerr is in second place. I am shocked to see Knight so far behind in this poll even though it is just an online poll.

Wow....Adkins would be a disaster.

and heap accolades on the RINO's (at least until the primaries are over. I laugh till I cry when I read the editorial screeds that Steve Rose prints each week. Why anyone bothers to read what he thinks of the Republican primary races is beyond me. Mostly because he can't think unless he's wearing his corrective underwear. But also because on August 7, he will start campaigning for every Democrat in the state. Sheesh. fsf
To: rwfromkansas
Good letter, go for it.
Did you send it to the Topeka Crapital Urinal?
Anybody know if there are there any "real" polls out there?
