It made for a good show. Was sorry I missed most of it. I'm doubtful, as you, that it was Templar relics.

To Sr71A the bible used by Washington to take the oath of office, is the same one used by George W.Bush, It is known as the Masonic Bible, and is in the custody of a Blue Lodge in New York City.
They the Blue Lodge, loan out the Bible for some occasions but the Bible is delivered by Brothers of the Lodge, and they are not allowed to fly with the Bible, but must travel by Auto.

If you like Christian fiction,
Hidden in Time is about an archaeologist searching for the Ark of the Covenant using clues left by the Knights Templar.
I'd recommend reading Rift in Time first (discovery of the Garden of Eden and Noah's Ark) because Hidden in Time is a sequel to Rift.
It's fairly light reading - sort of like an British Indiana Jones. They were good beach reading.

I could be wrong but I believe that the knights also controlled the only source of amber in europe. That I believe is what pushed them into power among other things.

is a link that at least documents that October 13,
1307 fell on a Friday. A Google search finds multiple
references to this as the origin of the superstition but
I guess there is no way to really no for sure.

Please explain. Jesus never married and since he is considered sinless he surely never committed adultery. How can he have heirs? There's been some speculation that Jesus was married. Some of the speculation is in a book "Was Jesus Married?: The Distortion of Sexuality in the Christian Tradition" by William E. Phipps.
In a nutshell, in those days it was the norm for parents to arrange marriages for their kids at an early age. It would have been unusual for him NOT to have been married. The first miracle was Jesus turning water into wine at a wedding. The speculation is that the wedding was HIS wedding. Later in the Gospel mention is made of the "disciple whom Jesus loved". The speculation was that this was Jesus's son.
After the crucifiction, Jesus's family was supposed to have been smuggled off to France

By oppression and judgment he was taken away. And who can speak of his descendants? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was stricken.
The "disciple whom Jesus loved" was John, his brother.
Not that knowing the truth will ever stop people from making stuff up.

I'm thinking "At the Mountains of Madness". Wrong critter? Yep. HP Lovecraft's works were entirely fictional, but it would make for an interesting life. :)

Read "Born In Blood" by J. J. Robinson. A fascinating and comprehensive history. If he is correct, they are the foundation of Free Masonry.

I am also a member and I believe that J. J. Robinson's book, "Born In Blood" covers the connection quite well.
