Do you consider the Catholic church to be a fundamentalist "sect"?
There obviously ARE cases that fit the bill. THEY usually don't make it to FR however, as it is chiefly those cases where injustices have apparently been committed that we discuss.
Obviously, cases where the mother flips out on Prozac and murders her children are discussed here as well. Cases where the children HAVE been seriously abused and removed by state workers most often DON'T make it here.
In THIS case, there wasn't any serious abuse, it was a spanking for heaven's sake. What's the reason for all of these character attacks on the family? It is obvious that there is a select few on FR that have an agenda, and we all know who they are.

I'm sorry that I wasn't clearer. She wasn't in jail. Her husband was arrested. The visits were home visits. CPS checking on her. She was sweet and naive and her children adored her. When her Mom bought her a new chair, the caseworker raised hell and yelled how selfish she was, that the kids grandma should have spent the money on them, but the kids didn't "want" for anything. The caseworker was outrageous. It took months and a lot of slander but the caseworker finally alienated the teenage daughter. After the Moms death and the teen girl gained a little maturity she realized how she'd been manipulated. All 4 kids are in therapy and very bitter, against CPS. In their zeal, they seriously injured the innocent. That caseworker was fired. My concern with CPS is there is great potential for abuse of power and no authority to oversee them. I've personally seen a case where an abused child was left in the home, despite hard evidence of abuse, and the other case where innocents were shredded. There HAS to be some sanity and oversight to prevent the abuses.

As literal interpretations of the Bible would cause one to go forth and evangelize, that is what true Christian fundamentalists do.
Since the Messianic Jews take the Bible literally my point was that Jews can be "true Christian fundamentalists", as you call them.

Wrong. Misdemeanor battery on a child. Guilty plea in light of the evidence supporting a felony charge. You portray the search for the facts as character attacks. The facts are revealing the lack of character of the Hensons and their advisors.

I would think that they would refer to the Torah, not the translations of it which Christians call the Bible. I can't say I've ever seen any Jewish person, Messianic or otherwise, evangelizing the Bible.

As for this case, I have extensive professional knowledge of the legal system in Wisconsin, and that extends to the Dept. of Probation & Parole. And anyone who relies on the Christine's advisors, the Gastons, and recommends the Gaston's sui juris legal babble is out on the fringe.
Some might strongly disagree with that characterization. Others might simply tell you to "get bent".
Why do you and your cohorts hate the Gaston family so much? Why do you insist on keeping THEIR little girl in environments where she has been raped, abused, and molested? All the while, the Gastons were never charged with ANY abuse, and any allegations against them have all been determined to be UNFOUNDED!
