I guess that "whacko Australian paper" is more alert than their American counterparts. Say it isn't so!

The idea of encouraging Americans to report on one another's activities - spying on each other - is the most miserable, disgusting thing I have seen proposed by the government in my lifetime.

Again, we agree 100%. And I thought HillaryCare and the medical ID was a bad idea. This leaves me near speechless. Land of the snitch, home of the coward.

Which is fine until a snitch decides to make some crap up and/or plant something in your house. Yes, bloody fantastic idea mate, lets pay them.

That's it! That's why they aren't here, they're at a Uniform fitting. You can't expect them to wear those brown shirts right off the rack...No, they're busy bashing the latest Zogby poll (Bush popularity down 7%). Funny, yesterday one of them told me that polls are accurate and reliable...
To: Lord_Baltar
I remember just after the election I put up a post that was a parody of those 'Clinton xxx Days Left', I posted 'Bush xxx Days' left. My post was deleted probably because it ran counter to all the Bush sycophancy ('Doesn't Laura look wonderful', 'those two girls are so pretty') that was going on at the time. Perhaps it's time that post was reinstated.

If it weren't so serious, the JERK who proposed the TIPS program ought to be publicly ridiculed and ridden out of the county on a rail. Regardless of who he is.

...disgusting thing I have seen proposed by the government in my lifetime. No worse than repressive taxes and locking people up for smoking a weed, get over it.
To: Bill D. Berger
I thought of writing it as Dubys's Imperial Presidency Special Human Intelligence Team, or Bush's Unquestioning Loony Losers Special Human Intelligence Team, or Doing Opposite of Gore Special Human Intelligence Team...
Although, it could just be called Totally Unquestioned Republican Dictatorship...

...locking people up for smoking a weed...
It's almost as stupid but not nearly as disgusting.

For Your Information, Askel5.
I can't see how anyone claiming to be an American could support the Federal government's organization of citizens for the purpose of spying on their neighbors.

The TIPS program was a point of discussion on the news shows last night. What was amazing was the almost total lack of concern over this program manifested by the various TV commentators.
Hannity asked what was wrong with it? Do you have anythig to hide? Wouldn't you report seeing a key of dope lying on your neighbors coffee table?
Well, what if the furnace repair man comes into my house and sees my kid's chemistry lab in the basement and reports it to the FBI/Homeland security people as a meth lab. Maybe they raid the house. Maybe they do nothing, but their is now an entry in my FBI file saying I may be a meth dealer that I don't even know about.
Snitch on our neighbors? Nothing to it.
The idea is disgusting.
