Haven't you ever seen adults that have never grown up mentally? Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional.

I think the SLC city police have a record of efficiency,Well, their press conferences come off as inane to me. JMO

"a "feeling" that he never tucked her in that night. he never checked her.."
I think it was in the prelim, Damon said he tucked in Dylen & kissed him goodnight and never mentioned doing the same with Derrick & Danielle.
I noticed in this trial Brenda & Damon had more of "memory recall" too.

Kim - yes I do feel lucky - I will give you that. My own little part of America feels relatively safe. I must admit I live in a small town surrounded by other small towns. To me California seems a lot different than my neck of the woods - but I don't really know. Some of the witnesses described Poway as being a small town where you would run into familiar people at many places - like the gas station, stores, you get the drift. I dunno though - doesn't seem that way to a gal from a real small town.

No matter what the outcome of this trial it will stink. Because if a person can be convicted on flimsy evidence like this you and I are not safe any more. You have said it all. They rushed to judgement on this..one needs to ask WHY?
Hope all is ok with you K

And don't forget blow-torches. An undetermined number of gas station fires each year are caused by people who do arc welding repairs on their cars while pumping gas. While the Center for Welding Safety (CFWS) agrees that multi-tasking can be a real time saver, they have come up with a few simple rules handy-men and handy-lesbians can all follow:
- Never weld around your gas tank while refueling unless you are a CFWS-certified welder using CFWS-certified equipment.
- If you have to weld around your gas tank during refueling operations, DO NOT USE A CELL PHONE within 47 yards of the activity.
- Only weld your gas tank in rural, sparsely populated areas.
Apologies to my brother Tom, who made this bit up.

Maybe you're right Kim but a lot of us are drawing upon our own experiences to question the VD's behavior that Sat. morning. Remember this is a mother who leaves her 7 yr.old in a dressing room to go track down her sons and leaves all three kids to go pick up a pizza. A juror has to make judgment calls on what seems to fit and what seems to be out of character. I think it was all just a little too scripted. I also take into account their demeanor on the witness stand which says alot.

The Smarts live in a castle for petes sake..an army could camp there an it is possible it would not be heard (plus it looks like the perp had a key) ..as to the others...we do not know anything about the level of sobriety of the parents do we?

... but we do have gators. Way too many years ago, my brother caught one about 4' long. We put it in the bath tub, gators are neat stuff when you're 12 yrs old !
'course when dad got home from work, he didn't think so, and made us take it back to the canal.

I am afraid that the SD law enforcement antics are not isolated. The FBI activities also belie their professional image. I think the MOB had better ethics! And I've read some horrible things Texas did.
Because of all that corruption, I am very suspicious that Westerfield has been treated fairly. Sometimes all the police is interested in is "clearing the books", and prosecutors look for successful wins to further their political careers. All on the backs of too many innocent victims.
I just keep praying to God that He will intervene and allow justice for Danielle, whoever is guilty.

Fres I think you have a parody future:>) LOL

I believe the SLC press conferences are very difficult for those guys. They MUST keep details of the investigation under wraps. I understand that. What I DON'T understand is why the info keeps changing. So I guess I'll have to agree with you there.

Ohhhh, I so agree with you.

I've done some reading research about the SDPD since this trial came up and there sure are a lot of "?'" about that organization. I was flabbergasted!!!Well.....FWIW....as many here know, my son-in-law is a police officer in one of San Diego County's cities. He is not SDPD.
I've asked him several times, "What's up with SDPD?" His answer has been, "What do you expect?"
I think a large city department is much more susceptible to corruption and problems than the smaller ones.
If you haven't already, see what you can find about the case of Dale Akiki a few years back. That was a doozy !! It had political fingerprints all over it too.

naa - I don't dispute the interval between when they allegedly found Danielle not to be in her bed and when they called 911. If it was staged and she was gone earlier - they would have had plenty of time to get rid of the drug stuff. If it was genuine - I still think that 10 minutes could have been enough time to get rid of the drug stuff - but not in addition to any of the other things I mentioned. Either way - I think the drug stuff was gotten rid of before the 911 call - how could they have known there wasn't an officer right down the street that would show up immediately - they had to have gotten rid of stuff before they placed the call IMO.

Your post 114. OMG! Can it get any worse than what I've read about the SDPD????
Gotta leave here soon, but will look up the Dale Akiki soon.

Can it get any worse than what I've read about the SDPD???? I guess it all depends on what you've read.......lol
The Akiki case is unbelievable. Let me give you a little tease.
First of all, thankfully he is a free man and rightfully so. But.......he was accused of molesting children in a Sunday School class. There were actually children that said he killed a giraffe in front of them.
I mean.....San Diego has a beautiful, world famous zoo, but come on. Are you curious now? Hehehehehe !!!

Once I lived in Lake Charles, La., in a raised house on the bayou, we had a bridge from the house to the waters edge. One day I was standing on the bridge and saw something white floating in the water, I thought it was debris from run off, but with a closer look the white thing was swaying in the bayou and coming toward me. I ran up stairs, finally found my binoculars, ran back down stairs and across the bridge to see the hind spines of this white something. It was a White Alligator, it appeared to be about 8Ft.long. After seeing that, I became very watchful of my dog.
