Are they voting on something now? What was that voice vote about a little while ago?
To: On the Road to Serfdom
The vote was for an amendment to the bill.
About giving preferance to pilots, who have had military background.
Now, they are debating the wording.
Some of those Reps are scary in their thinking.
Ron Paul, a breath of fresh air for gun owners, and FReedom.

Yes, it will.

Even
Barbara Boxer couldn't stand the thought of using an AMRAAM to do the job that one pistol could accomplish.

Now that WOULD be truly stupid unless all of the passengers were also allowed to carry. If I were the King, this is how I would implement the program: Voluntary and Trained. Both for cockpit and cabin. Under no circumstances should unarmed passengers know the status of who and how many crew and others are armed. If someone feels lucky - let 'em guess.
Under a voluntary program I would think over 75% of cockpit crews would be armed and something less than 5% of the cabin crews.

The vote is going very well...

I suppose this would be a step up but what the hell do we need a "pilot" program for? Not so long ago (prior to 1987 I think) pilots carried. And who makes the final call on the 'success' of the program? If it's the same jerks (Mineta & Co) they'll just kill it.

. . . OR Park the Planes. "There was a whoooooolllle lotta bi-partisanism goin' on in da House."
( . . in my best Fritz Hollings voice)
" . . OR Park the Planes," is probably what was said by many Airline Pilots who wrote to their critters prior to this vote.

Mineta and McGaw can go pound sand if the Senate follows the lead of the House. As a number have said, that's where this bill will make it or not. If Daschle, Klinton and Co. play around with this too much, I think we could see some work stoppages as Pistacio said.

If you ever fly El Al airline, you will see the male flight attendants carrying their pistol cases with them as they come on board. I would assume the pilots are similarly armed. The pilots don't open the cockpit door once the plane is airborn.
Why are we still messing around on this issue?

The certain way to solve the problem of Arab terrorism in this country is to throw out every Arab male who isn't a U.S. citizen. There is NOTHING in the US, Constitution that prevents our doing so.
If terrorists aren't in this country, it becomes very, very difficult for them to emply terrorist tactics against us.

Its just a spin so the Demon-ocrats can gain popularity...then they will enforce their One World Order with their Marxist buddies..The UN..
