Then, again, on the his first, early morning trip to the drycleaners the clerk said he was barefoot (and it was cool outside). Feldman certainly should be able to produce such boots if he is able since the owner is his client. In fact, I would think it would be imperative at this point. The reservation that I have at this point is why didn't this come out EARLIER? I'd say this is pretty important. But all and all, this is another good day for the prosecution.

Okay, I think I need a break. For a second I thought DW meant David Westerfield......EWWWW!!!
Then, I actually found myself examining my dryer lint for fibers!!!

Does anyone else question, that since the "results" are just in the defense has not had time for their people to examanine the evidence? Isn't that against the rules?
To: Rheo
Please tell me I heard wrong. Brenda has an orange sweater and it wasn't tested? ARGHHHHHHHH

There could be a budget in effect I'm sure...wonder what it is, how they figure it out all..
To: Politicalmom
giggle... DW in my post means "DearWife"... I now refer to David Allen Westerfield as DAW, to distinguish him from his son, DNW...(David Neal Westerfield)...

I feel bad for DW cuz the testing will be coming in now ...(if there are anymore)..that interrupts the defense's flow...and ISN'T fair IMHO...BUT the defense knew this would be a consequence for choosing a speedy trial rather than a long drawn out one. I agree that it isn't fair.
I suspect that, in time, this idea of a "speedy trial" may have to take into account that it takes time to do ever more complicated and technical tests.
On the other hand, if this was DW's choice and not Feldman's ...

Thanks Fres. - but the ones of DW's closet are what we need.

A question for all about today's fibres.
I understand the orange fibres being found in laundry, etc. But is someone trying to imply that there are towels shedding acrylic fibres?? (This would be the very short blue fibres.)
Even today's cheap towels are made of a cotton-polyester blend; the more upscale the towels, the more likely they are to be cotton.
Acrylic blankets, yes. Acrylic towels - not likely.
Also, the original blue-grey fibres were described as having a slight curve to them. Do these mini-fibres (2 mm) also have a curve to them, or has that not been mentioned?

I'm not sure...the tape lifts were actually done 2/13...the defense could have had them analyzed and we have just yet to hear from their witness who actually did more tests.....

That's what Feldman asked and she said BVD's clothes were not compared.

Back to earlier testimony by defense today. Did I hear the prosecution elicit from one of the young girls whose fingerprints had been found in the MH (Danielle L. and Jennifer) that one of them colors their hair?
To: BunnySlippers
There was plenty of time to do these tests before now. They stopped testing because they thought they had a slam dunk ..... wrong.

Far fetched maybe - but I also can't help thinking of Damon's little newsgroup post regarding how to "Get back" (or something to that effect) at a person who steals your bike is to put a business card or some such ID into the seat post tube thingy - and he wasn't too nice about his choice of words as I recall. Damon has a devious mind - I think - and I know truth is sometimes stranger than fiction. All I'm saying is that I don't discount this kind of speculation as much as I used to.
I think it's as clever as those folks who etch their names/initials over various expensive tools and items. Your theory is not that far-fetched..it's a lot more tamer since the other theories. I'll add your comments to our evolving fact sheet.
To: John Jamieson
The most incredible belly-aching is going on and on about producing Westerfield's boots and examining all the fibers in his home, etc.
YET, we have pointed out what colors the "girls" had on that evening and you'd think someone would be demanding to have their clothing fibers analyzed? Did they throw their clothes away?
Works both ways, the suspicions...oh, but I keep forgetting, they are not on trial..DW is....so nevermind.
