Thanks. You're probably right. I just wasn't sure from the description in the article.

A wig was mentioned as one of the items. Maybe he wanted a new look for his camel.

acetone

Acetone! One spark is all you would need to set that stuff off.

I think the video equipment is more concerning. Combined with the small plane alert issued earlier......

Two INS agents went to Exeter from their headquarters in Philadelphia upon learning that Popal was there, Unterkoefler said.

Exeter is about 20min from me!--ugh!

At any rate, it appears that the Feds were extremely interested in him to say the least.

FWIW 3M makes an "adhesive solvent" for, oddly enough, dissolving adhesives. [Found it in an auto paint store] Works well. There is also Bestine, an adhesive solvent primarily for rubber cement. [Find in art supply stores] Works extremely well on delicate surfaces.

I have both at my shop and can post some of the key components tomorrow if you like. Neither is particularly nasty; nothing like MEK. Both are flammable.

If you want more details ping me.

Why would the pickup be weighted down with only 12 cases of soda?

Bad Shocks? Or

He must have been carrying something the police are not telling the press.

Car batteries, wire, and adhesive solvent is a disturbing cargo for an illegal from Afhghanistan to be carrying. I say it i 99.99% certain he was up to no good, and what he had in mind were explosions, of one size or another, set off by ignitors, of one degree of sophistication or another.

Were the cases of soda just to attempt to cover up the other contents, or were they for him and comrades who were working outside in the heat?

Empty the cans of soda and make a smaller scale Tim McVeigh special? I don't know.

The article said he was carrying several car batteries. I find this story disturbing. I'm glad they arrested this guy.

I believe Rita said he told police that he was taking the soda to his cousin, who has a 'store' in Philly. Anyone else hear this?

Illegal Afghani Picked up near Limerick Nuclear Power Plant

Is this a story about counterfeit Afghan currency being dumped near nuclear power plants in hopes of radiating federal agents?

It's not a story about some smarmy 'grammatically correct' type....so have a nice day.
