A solvent used for cleaning a surface prior to the application of an adhesive?

Popal presented an expired international driving permit that listed his home address as Kabul, Unterkoefler said. There are a number of interesting details in this story : Like
international driving permit
The agents searched Popal's truck, which appeared to be loaded with about a dozen cases of soda, Unterkoefler said. He said he found several car batteries, adhesive solvents and
electrical wiring under the soda.
Now if the soda happened to be filled with gasoline and the soda bottles were plastic.
Any way to make a bomb out of that?

Is this the same guy FOX had a "breaking news" about earlier in the day?? Or ... is this another terrorist on the loose??

He was going to make a bomb out of the soda cans? Good way to move stuff around without raising suspicion.
Why would the pickup be weighted down with only 12 cases of soda? He must have been carrying something the police are not telling the press.

Limerick Nuclear Power Plant? There was an Afghani named Popal,
Who loved to eat his offal,
he went for ride
got pulled to the side
now he he'll spend a liitle time in Gitmo.
I know, it doesn't really rhyme, but I had no time for a terror based Limerick.

Oh - you are close......but we can see the steam too......not today with the smoke, but most days.......
To: RightWhale
Yes Right Whale, could be one of many things purchased at your local Home Depot. Not something 'exotic' that had to be diverted, etc.

AMW is usually pretty good though and they have been most helpful on putting the spotlight on cases that have disappeared from our front page.
Like for example the case of the two missing Oregon City girls.

In all seriousness, I can't tell from the article if they were referring to soda-pop, baking soda, caustic soda, etc.
Have you heard anything more specific?

Maybe I'm a bit too cranky on Walsh, you're right he has performed q real public service, and done so in the private domain. So that's a good thing.

an adhesive solvent is a solvent that dissolves an adhesive, acetone comes to mind.

An adhesive solvent means a solvent for disolving adhesives (like Goo-Gone). In English one can adjective nouns (or verb nouns like I just did twice)--a favorite grammatical construction of Alexander Haig, who overused it to the point of silliness, but valid English grammar nonethless.
To: Helix
I would think it is soda they are referring to. You know, like Coke.
To: razorback-bert
I presume a solvent for adhesives

If he's not - maybe you could send him this story and ask him about starting a feature. This might help people to realize that Homeland Security is really THEIR JOB TOO. They must be vigilant and ready to take down license plates and descriptions of people - along with pictures if possible.
I carry a tablet and pen with me all the time.
