My uncle was killed in Korea in 1951. I never knew him. My Grandmother wrote this poem in his memory......

Always 22

Walk softly; Mother’s dreaming
Of her boy who marched away----
Went to fight for me and you,
And he was only “22.”

He looked so strong that day,
As he went marching far away,
He loved the red, white, and blue,
But, he was only “22.”

Yes, walk softly and let her dream;
The years will quickly pass,
I’ll grow older, and so will you ---
But her boy will always be “just 22.”

Came accross some photos today while researching

The M-24 Chaffee is my fav for WW-2,...It was quick..and it could hit.[The Tiwanese army sleeved it with a 90mm barrel.
2 Cadillac engines and direct drive...No wonder Telly Savalas used it to haul Perfume and Nylons!
