From the FBI's point of view, maybe they don't feel it's prudent to recognise every terrorist event as a terrorist event. I mean from their point of view, why give the enemy what they really want; attention and recognition as a martyr??

Imagine how frustrating it must be for the terrorists when they go through the trouble to blow something up or kill somebody and nobody (FBI, Government officials etc.)seems to notice it was terrorism!

I'll remind you also that the government said months ago that they would be using dis-information (LYING to the media) as they saw fit.

Show a little patriotism; this is the best government in the entire world. Believe it or not, they know what they are doing.

Your question is a good one. What IS terrorism? Does it have to be a well-conceived, complicated plan such as the 9/11 attack, to be called "terrorism?" In my opinion, the term can apply to something as mundane as a group of surly teenagers blocking your way on a sidewalk. Terrorism is anything that causes a rational person to believe that they are not as safe as they are accustomed to being. Of course OKCity was terrorism. Once people have been relieved of their misguided "it can't happen here" beliefs, it then becomes terrorism.

Since when did terrorism take on a new meaning?

ter·ror·ism   Pronunciation Key  (tr-rzm)
n.
The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons.

Having observed your performances these many months it is my sad duty to advise you that you haven't a clue.

Had he carried a bomb, oakie doakie...but he brought two guns and a knife...and when he got into trouble he fought with the knife...theguy wasn't a terrorist...he was nuts.

Now why would our F.B.I. cover up the terrorist attack at LAX?

They wanted to get home and watch Sheryl Crow on ABC?

Because our gubmint doesn't want the people to know we are vulnerable to attack and they can't protect us. We might have to defend ourselves and our gubmint doesn't want us doing that. All the billions in the world that we are spending on defense seems like a waste......our enemies walk among us.

Someone, actually more than one person, has pointed out that if the two jetliners had struck the WTC twin towers at the same time, instead of about 15 to 20 minutes apart, that we'd all now still be talking about the horrible plane accident that caused the towers to fall; Michael Rivero would still be on FR; and the debate here would be about whether or not there was an explosion in one of the plane's center fuel tanks that caused it to crash into the other plane and then both into the towers, with Rivero averring that, no, it was really a conspiracy, and the goobermint shills here mocking him. You know the drill.

Every conceivable terrorist incident since 9-11 has been passed off as "unrelated to 9-11," and "not a terrorist incident."

The FBI - and, in fact, govenment in general - don't want to call such an act terrorism for several reasons.

1) The power structure is terrified of the possibility that there will be a popular groundswell of anger against moslems.

2) The power structure is also unwilling to risk a general war of islam versus the West.

3) The power structure is well aware that Americans value a strong economy over other factors, and a perception that we aren't safe anymore is likely to degrade economic activity.

Please note that I use the term "power structure", since this is not a matter of political party. It isn't just the politicians either - lots of voters and political contributers feel the same way. For that matter, very few would be willing to openly advocate the methods necessary to fight and win a general was against islam.

Now, as to the question of whether a lone individual can be a terrorist. Yes, absolutely. In fact, they make the best kind of terrorist, because that way there is no organization to pursue, no assets to seize, no comrades to compromise. It's called leaderless resistance. You can read a lot more about it HERE. (Note: Louis Beam is an ambassador at large for the Aryan Nations, and established a point system for assassination of federal officials. As such, his perspective may have some correlation with terrorist attitudes in general.)

Last night on the radio they were asking for the public's help in determining the motive. They really probably want to know if he was in league with others who may have evil intentions.

Earlier in the day, our local talk show host (don't know where he got this info) claimed that he parked his limo outside El Al to pick up passengers and they asked him not to park there because he looked Arab. He may have been losing business.

I mean they tell us we will be attacked and then we are attacked and then they say this was not a terrorist attack. Now why would our F.B.I. cover up the terrorist attack at LAX?

I have a simple theory: 9/11 set the standard for terrorism. Anything less than tall buildings falling, will not be treated as terrorism. What do you think?

Can anybody remember the last time the FBI actually solved a crime? The FBI is primarily a PR operation these days. I wouldn't take anything they say too seriously.

I used to joke that I was "safe" (sarcasm) since I lived in Irvine, as the city is full of Middle Easterners. I guess that is not so funny now..

To protect one of the many facets who actually run the country....Big Business.

The more people fear terrorists at airports the fewer people fly...the fewer people fly the sooner the struggling (big business) airlines go under....

Simple big government/big business partnership economics.

Or maybe this was just some lone nutjob who hates Jews as opposed to someone who belongs to an organization of nutjobs who carry out attacks in order to achieve some political goal.

TBL, you're starting to sound like Dr Seuss.

Would you attacks
At LAX?

FBI covered attacks
at the airport known as L A X

Would you attacks
with broken glass?

FBI would hide attacks
with broken glass at LAX.

Perhaps I missed it, but I did not hear the FBI (or anyone else) say that this was not a terrorist attack. I did hear them say that they had not ruled it out. So far, this doesn't seem to fit the MO of a terrorist operation. Granted, an Egyptian national did kill two Israelis (and would likely have killed many more if he had not been stopped). Is it an act of terrorism because of the ethnicity of those involved? Was he recruited, trained, and ordered to carry out this attack, or was he a lone wolf with sympathies for the terrorists? Was he seeking martyrdom? Or, maybe he awoke on his birthday and decided he didn't like where his life was going, and snapped.
