An exportable crop can't be considered "irresponsible breeding" now, could it?

No, I have a fundamental objection to torture.

I had a Cocker Spaniel that suffered a herniated disc, when she was 8, that paralyzed her hind quarters.
A successful emergency surgery, 3 months of rehabilitation and she ran around like a puppy for 6 more years.
Any person that would have dared to try to put a rope around her neck wouldn't have breathed one more breath on this earth.
I wouldn't have traded those 6 years of joy that little dog brought my family for a whole lifetime with 10 women, that had hearts that could bring themselves to commit a heinous act like that, even if they looked like your 'dream woman' there.
It sounds like you deserve a woman like that, though. Just don't turn your back on her and sleep with one eye open.

Oh how enlightened you are.

You're a disgrace.
To: NC_Libertarian
I can't bel(ie)eive that a vet would have such an attitude about thisThen you don't know what a veterinarians' primary purpose and service is.

"At least in Korea the strays don't starve to death and are at least used for something instead of being killed and dumped into a landfill." Medical research using animals has helped to bring about profound breakthoughs in our understanding and levels of knowledge. I'm more for spaying and neutering PETA members, as well as those whose carelessness and unresponsibility produce a gazillion unwanted puppies and kittens.
I know yours is a needed job. I am sorry that the unresponsible in our society makes it necessary.

Dude, nothing better than a beagle with cream cheese, a little OJ and fox news on a Sunday morning. :)

I was refering to your acceptance of how the Koreans and Chinese treat dogs.
I was not refering to your euthanising of dogs. That's fine, I understand why that's done. That prevents suffering. I mean you don't string them up and beat them first right?

You're a disgraceBeing a disgrace to the ignorant and uninformed would be considered a compliment. Thank you.

Sounds like if you weren't a vet, you'd be an abortionist or another Dr. Kevorkian.
How enlightened of you.

I believe putting down 94 dogs yesterday would make me sad and angry... I bet a lot of your work at the humane society makes you sad and angry... Your posts seem to be attacking an unclear target that perhaps we just can't decipher yet from your tidbits.
Volunteering that our unwanted dogs deserve to be sent to Korea to be hung and beat with a stick before they are killed seems to be an odd idea for a vet, yes.
I can't really determine who you are mad at in the other posts you made, but I am sure there is some explanation you could offer if you wanted to not sound so bizaare. Perhaps sounding bizaare is actually your goal.

Horses are at least as smart as dogs and the French eat them which I think is just as awful.

smelled bad enough already. Actually, it smells pretty good. Tastes good too.
To: FITZ
Don't horse meat end up in dog food in this country. Now, that is a twist for those judgemental dog lovers.
To: 4Freedom
I had a Cocker Spaniel Sounds like you had a pet, not a food source.
Just don't turn your back on her and sleep with one eye open.
Yep, they're reknown for their cannabilism.

Bob, so you worked on F-15s and F-16s. I always had the pleasure of looking down on you guys from way above, in air conditioned comfort. LOL

Horses are at least as smart as dogs and the French eat them which I think is just as awful. I absolutely agree with your point, however I wonder if it is intellect that actually draws the line. When we breed and train animals to be our companions, perform our work, bear our burdens and depend on us for everything, then decency demands a fair contract. The animals in our service perform the tasks that we give them without hesitation (most of the time ;~D) and in exchange, we owe them dignity and fair treatment. Because they deserve it, and because humanity should want it to be so.
Beauty without Vanity
Strength without Insolence,
Courage without Ferocity,
And all the Virtues of man,
Without his Vices.
