Oh no! Oh my gosh! That comment really cut me thru to the heart. How old are you, about 12? *fotfl*
To: strela
Yup. That's it! Thanks :)

Hey Servant of the Nine...Now I understand your views on the Israeli/Palestinian issue: I see you are a complete idiot, so I now know not to expect anything worth while from you (not that I did before).

Oh no! Oh my gosh! That comment really cut me thru to the heart. How old are you, about 12?No, I'm old enough not to insult a sport, and all the players of that sport, that I may not really care for.
Unlike you.
To: LisaAnne
Actually they play about 162 days out of about 180 from April 1 to September 30 each year, not "on the weekends".

Well, you would have thought wrong.
Condolences to the Cards from a Reds fan.

FROM WBBM TV--5pm Central:
Cubs catcher Joe Girardi told the capacity crowd there would be no game today because of a "tragedy" in the Cardinal family. Kile didn't show up at batting practice, they called the hotel and had them open up the room. They found the pitcher dead, in his bed. Autopsy Sunday.
Game rescheduled to Sunday night.

Yep, he pitched for the Astros, who've had more than there share of players encounter tragedies. In the early 70s, the Astros were a tragedy unto themselves. You should find a remaindered copy of Seasons in Hell sometime; it's a fun little read about one of the worse teams of all time.

There are as*holes in every walk of life, of course, who would probably dock a dead guy's last check a half day if he died at lunch. Two words: Cantor Fitzgerald.

I'm not a baseball fan, but I pity your husband / boyfriend. If you have one, that is.
She does, it's Swervant, you dope ;^)
To: LisaAnne
I would think out of respect for Darryl and the game they would have sucked it up an played.Which part of "The Commissioner canceled the game" don't you understand? If they'd "sucked it up and played" it wouldn't have counted.
To: Charles Henrickson
Have they reported possible causes of death?
I doubt that they will know for several weeks.
To: null and void
Ah, so they tolerate one anothers idiocy well.
Let me know if they ever divorce. THIS one would be one to watch!

I've never met swervulent, I have had lunch with LisaAnne. In person she is atractive, very pleasant, bright and quick witted.
Opposites attract???
To: Lazamataz
Totally unexpected.
They said they would hit us 'where we'd least expect it'
Perhaps a islamic connection to this?

Apparently baseball is a sacred game, mustn't upset all the little boys, um, men, running around in their baseball caps on the weekends I am curious on what motivates such meanness as you and SO9, (who has fallen silent) to trash a perfectly fine thread?
Why not just post stupid once, get it out of your system, then move on to something else?
There are hundreds of threads on which can exhibit your stupidity, lack of class and common decency, but belaboring becomes tiresome.

My point being, that you all, including the so called commissioner, are acting like Alan Alda look alikes. You are all acting just like the masses when that silly Princess Dianna died. Grow up.
This is a game, I don't even think of it as a sport. They man died, I am sorry for that. But, I don't think that the game should have been cancelled and everyone go home to cry in their beer.
