It has always disturbed me that Daniele's body was not found wrapped in a sheet or other material. If DW was carrying her body around in MH all weekend, then dumped body at Dehesa Sunday night, and body was bloody, he would have had to wrapped her in something. Otherwise there would be blood all over MH. So where are the sheets?

Why do you think her body would be bloody? So far, they've speculated suffocation.

I'll chip in here with my own SPECULATION;

David Westerfield's lawyer has claimed he has proof his client is innocent.
David Westerfield is a "neat freak"
David Westerfield is a self-employed mechanical engineer.
David Westerfield was at Dad's drinking rum and cokes the night of Danielle Van Dam's disappearance.
By habit, self-employed people ask for a receipt. If David Westerfield has receipt(s) for the drinks he bought, it could be shown the quanity of alcohol he consumed that night.
Its possible he had drunk sufficient quanities of alcohol to be so innebriated that he could not have physically performed the tasks that would have had to been performed to kidnap, murder and dispose of Danielle Van Dam.

This hair in Danielle's hand is a case breaker. If that hair is DW's, he is toast. Likewise, if they can't say it is his, he walks. I can't believe Dusek would not have mentioned it in opening statement if it was DW's hair.

Wonder why they described the one short dark hair under her arm but didn't describe the hair that was tangled in her right hand?

I'm really not familiar w/the Dehesa site...is it one where DW would have been able to drive the MH in to dump her body or would he have had to park and carry her in?

...thought the inference was that Layla had been switched for another dog or something.

I had similar thoughts. Great minds think alike? lol

This was something I considered way back, but kept quiet about.

REMEMBER, that right across the street from where Danielle's body was found, there was the carcass of a dog. Had this dog been dead about as long as Danielle?

Did the original Layla kill DANIELLE?

Did DAMON shoot the DOG with a .22 rifle or pistol? Then hide them for awhile. IN the meantime he got a second dog to replace the first ?

I have to admit the first part of this makes a lot of sense. Dog kills kid, Shoot dog. Somehow left .22 cartridge under bed or hung up in stuffed toys, something, and not found by forensics until 2nd time they were probing through room.

HOWEVER, replacing the dog with another without anyone noticing or telling seems WAY OUT THERE!

P.S. But I seem to remember Damon changing stories about the age of the dog too. So that would fit.

Maybe in all the confusion, no one noticed!?!?!?!??!

PPS Maybe that is where he went that night. Hide the bodies somewhere, and get a replacement dog. (pretty far out, huh?)

Isn't it strange that Layla isn't jumping on people anymore?....perhaps they got her a PR dog person

I think what you stated is covered in one of the motions filed by defense.

Only because of the other blood traces on jacket. I agree the most likely way to kill a small child is strangle or suffocate. Not to get too graphic, but if she were sexually abused there would have been blood from that.

is it one where DW would have been able to drive the MH in to dump her body or would he have had to park and carry her in?

From what I understand it is a convenient site because it is not a heavily traveled road, there is an area to stop that is occluded. You can dump off trash without being seen. I believe there is nothing that would prevent a car, truck or MH from stopping and dumping something there. Her body was , I believe, something like 50' off the road.

Did Dorie mention the dog being there when she first arrived on 2/2 or when she was there on 2/3 or 2/4?

It is kinda weird when you consider they want people to buy the theory that she was suffocated, but our proof it was DW is all this blood we found.

If the dog had killed Danielle by accident, then wouldn't the authorities be called? It would have been an accident. I just can't imagine pinning it on someone else and torturing that person this way by taking his home, his life, and everything away. That would be truly evil to do to someone over an accident that no one would be held responsible.

If there was a bullet casing in the room... where did the bullet itself go? Pardon my ignorance, does a .22 usually stop in the shootee's body? (Person or dog)

Feldman got the medical examiner to admit that Danielle was probably still alive mid-February. He will most likely present proof of that during the defense's case.

If she was probably still alive in mid-February, someone besides Westerfield must have been holding her, and then killed her.
