The article you posted saying that Gail Barr had more credibility in a he says-she says account was based on Larry Flynt's anti-conservative henchmen paying her to tell one side of the story, and nothing else. Yeah, that's fair.
L.N. Smithee: Are you in Barr's district, and intend to vote for Linder?Rommel2: No, I live in Minnesota.
L.N.: Do you know what role Gail Barr had in the destruction of her marriage?
R2: Two wrongs do not make a right. Barr committed adultery.
Really. So all the way from Minnesota, you are imploring Georgians to dump Barr because he "can't be trusted," but you don't know whether or not Linder can be trusted either. Not only don't you know, you don't have any interest in finding out. Why not? Because "[You] live in Minnesota."
L.N.:Do you intend to inquire as to whether Linder is faithful to his wife (if he is married)? If not, why not?R2: I live in Minnesota.
Consistency is not your strong point.
First of all, I asked for answers, not questions.
L.N.:Do you believe that public officials should expose their sins that don't involve lawbreaking to the public even if there is no real reason for the public to be informed about them?R2:Can you trust a politician that violates his marriage vows?
Secondly, as a rule, I don't trust politicians period. If you fall in love with a politician, you are only setting yourself up for disappointment. All any of us can do is hope our elected officials will effect the change that we think is needed and prevent the change we think will be detrimental. Would you venture to guess that all the candidates that you have voted for previously were faithful?
Finally, it seems that your unspoken answer to my question is "yes" since you have plastered FR with second-hand yellow journalistic character assassination of Barr. So, to you, Rommel, nothing is too private for us all to know about politicos' sexual lives. That is, except when it comes to Lister.
Don't like me filling in your answers? Next time, answer the question yourself.
Barr is a politician, not a priest or a pastor. Whether or not he is a hypocrite when comparing his personal life with the philosophy he espouses has nothing to do with his representing his constituents in the manner they expect.
L.N.: Do you think that every social conservative who has either committed adultery or divorced his/her spouse should stand idly by as homosexual radicals try to force this country into legitimizing same-sex marriage?R2: I want his vote, but I will still view him as a hypocrite.
The article you posted came close to suggesting that it didn't make sense for Barr to stand up vigorously in defense of traditional marriage since he wrecked his own. But you still say, "I want his vote..." Well, what else do you want? And before you give a lame answer/non-answer to that question, ask yourself -- can you say for a certainty that Linder is what you want, or is it just that you -- like the Democrats -- don't want Barr?
The judging portion is where I am asking you to be careful. As far as being serious, there is no comparison between Clinton and Barr. Though I found Clintons conduct in the Oval Office despicable, nonetheless, I was more concerned with his willingness to sell out our national security for campaign contributions. But that is a subject for another time. And surely you cannot ask me to compare the Court of Larry Flynt (Gail in her sworn statement to Larry Flynt) with our Federal Court system. I find myself questioning your real moral code when juxtaposed with your choice of source material. Lets now examine organization that you find so appealing:
Welcome to the Religious Freedom Coalition of the Southeast (RFCSE). The RFCSE a on-line gathering place for independent grass roots religious freedom on the Web. The RFCSE was created to preserve, protect and defend everyone's right to worship and believe anyway they wish, and roll back decades of Religious Rights abuses, to root out religious and political fraud and corruption, to champion causes which further religious freedom everywhere in the World; and to learn about and comment on U.S. government and public affairs as they apply to religion. There are many Hypocrites and crooked politicians in the World of Right Wing Religious Extremist organizations. The RFCSE aims to expose them all.
The purpose of the RFCSE is to expose the evil Bigotry, Hypocrisy, and False Claims of those of the religious right AND left, who believe that the ends justify the means; to expose the hypocrisy and bigotry of those who would push their personal ideas on everyone else; to identify the friends and supporters of Religious Freedom.
And now for their Mission Statement: Religious liberty is in great danger. Religious bigots and right wing conservative leaders are propagating untruths about liberal political leaders, and religions which they feel are in competition with their version of religion. Right Wing extremist organizations continue to storm the United States Capitol, state houses and school districts to advance a partisan political agenda that includes:
The RFCSE lists Franklin Delano Roosevlet as the 20th Centurys greatest president. And their friends of religious freedom include: Senator Pat Leahy, Senator Jim Jeffords, and former Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders. The RFCSE site is being hosted by the Association of Cymry Wicca.
Their Enemies List is a Whos Who of Conservative Politicians and Activists. If I had to choose, I would have to place my name here. Where would I look to find your name?
When I prepare reports, I look at the organizations behind the material to get a sense of their true purpose. If you really believe everything you have pulled from this site, then I begin to question your motivation and look at your opinions with some suspicion. Since I do not know you personally, I will assume you are trying to stay true to your beliefs. However, I would just recommend you look for better source material.
And your proof comes from a pornographer on a Wicca Website that is out to destroy conservative leaders. Hmmm, I think you know where my disgust lies.
Name a single conservative organization that investigates conservative politicians. Still waiting...
Im still waiting to find out why someone who claims to have such strong moral fiber would so easily take the word of Larry Flynt and the Religious Freedom Coalition of the Southeast. And why do we need to have conservative organizations investigating have you ever heard of the MEDIA?
Since I am pro-life and oppose same-sex marriages I would not be one of their favorites.
So then am I to assume you dont follow or agree with the stances taken by the RFCSE?
By the way, are you disputing the key points of the article, such as Barr is married to his third wife and that he married her one-month after his second divorce.
Do I really have to dispute the prose of Larry Flynt and a bunch of witches? However, I will continue to challenge this source and those that so easily accept it. BTW, my thread was regarding Congressman Barrs conservative record and his years of support for FreeRepublic. Of this, there is no dispute.
