It is. It's a catholic church. When I used to work in Mexico, I had some very good Mexican friends. One lady came up here for 2 weeks training. Her and I were very good friends, (like a mother-daughter relationship). We took her there one Sunday for church service. She was so impressed. Of course, this church is nothing compared to some of the old Spanish colonial churches I've seen in Mexico. I'm very lucky to have been able to live in the heart of real Mexico, and not the tourist or border town areas. Those people are wonderful. The people I know believe the northern part of Mexico give their country a bad name. The true Mexicans are very conservate and are fighting hard for real reform in their country.

Yeah, you got Randy Johnson, from our Seattle Mariners...thats ok, I was cheering for him, and for you, if we Mariners could not play for the World Series
Our Mariners are in a bit of a tiny slump right now...we are hoping they can go all the way this year...I sure love that Ichiro...hes such a great player, and hes just so cute...

I enjoy meeting the real people of different places we travel to, not just the touristy places...off the beaten track, are where you can often find real gems...

Wisconsin is very similar to upstate New York. The Niagara escarpment runs through both. Except for the mountians, the climate and land is almost identical.

I rooted for the Mariners in the play-off with the Yankees last year
the Mariners had a great season and deserved to win
but those Yankees are a problem...
Randy Johnson is a doll, his heart is as big as the whole outdoors
I hope he runs for Governor of AZ
he'd be terrif

"
I'm still waiting for your trip report!"
We took the Nature Campers (ages 6 thru 12) to one of our state parks to do some hiking and exploring. The kids keep jounals of their experiences and discoveries (identifying plants, animals, etc) and write short reports. When the kids aren't involved in science and nature activities, we have crafts and water (and other outdoor) activities for them.
The kids had a blast hiking, climbing and exploring (they had a nature scavenger hunt and a conifer forest excursion activity). Later, we had lunch by the lake and the kids spent some time at the playground. I spent about 25 minutes pushing kids on the swings -- Ol' Ed was pretty worn out at the end of the day as were the kidos!
Next week we're taking them on an all-day fishing trip. Most of the kids haven't been fishing before, so we've had them out on the playgroung practicing their casting. It will be an interesting trip!

Hi palo, two more just in:
$25 from Pennsylvania, with the comment: "I always lurk and seldom post. I want to commend all those who give of themselves to Free Republic. God bless each and all, especially all those wonderful Freepers out there in America that participate in this web site, and our brothers and sisters in the UK, Australia and Canada that are also of like minds. God bless all." -- I couldn't agree with you more, Pennsylvania Freeper
$10 from Missouri
THANK YOU FREEPERS FROM MISSOURI AND PENNSYLVANIA!

If I am not mistaken, I think Randy Johnson, is the tallest player in baseball..think he is something like 6'7" or 6'8"...just a big, tall guy, who is a great pitcher...

I remember the hubby and I took the girls fishing when they were little .. of course after 5 minutes they got bored and starting searching around .. when all of a sudden my oldest says .. "Look Mommy it's a big green worm"
I swear I never saw my hubby run and leap soooooooooooooooo fast
Yep .. the big green worm turned out being a big green snake ..
