I did not say the p;olice found it, I said it was found. It was found by the Levcy detectives. If you seriously believe the DC police are competent enough to know how to "clear" a wooded search area, you've got another think coming.

" but my wife insists that I wear something over them."

I like a colorful, ripped-off t-shirt.

I am aware of all you say, and am myself trying to make sense of this as we all are in the case.

Please take pity on me if my background and experience are so much more indoor, eastern and urban than yours. Indoor, eastern, and urban types did this in an eastern urban area.

I do not purport to know, and as my posts show, am trying to think through or figure out, with the possible help (not attacks like yours) of other posters--- as to whether this was likely to occur when the corpse was fresher, or middling, or skeletalized, and why.

At no point was it suggested that this was done in a vehicle. I am sure it was not. If I had to guess right now, I would say it was done about 6 to 8 months AGO, and the body would have been in fairly serious decomp, probably weighing just 40 lbs or so (mostly bones)...but still enough connective tissues to hold the leg (and rest of body) together.

It would also have been then, or later, that the head became separated and rolled down the hill.

I did not say she walked to the part of the park where the skeleton was found. I know it is two miles north of Klingle. I said she walked to Klingle mansion. If you read my other posts on this thread, you'll see I posit the skeleton was placed where it was found some time later, probably within the last month or two.

There are no "lime pits" around Luray. There are quarries...and the type of lime you refer to is "quicklime" which is CaO, not the harmless Ca(Mg)CO3 that makes up some of the strata around Luray...please stop referring to lime pitts as a means of destroying a body...this shows a lack of knowledge of the materials; CaCO3 is good to eat but useless for decomposing a body; it would actually tend to preserve it

how about ...the body was in an ordinary chest freezer in some apartment or garage...stop talking trunks or lime pits....bodies STINK ( that's how you know it was not there last summer, a 1/2 pound fish smells for a hundred yards, how much more a 100 plus pound body ?) and any lime would still be on the bones....this is a false trail please stop it

It didn't fit into the car on being removed from the strange position assumed in the freezer...and bodies take a long time to thaw...freezing also takes care of the stinking issue....few people out in the winter...cold temperatures...animals still active on warmer days e.g. raccoons, skunks, opossums, insects/grubs/beetles/ants/fly larvae, foxes, crows, grackles, starlings, bacteria, fungi ; doesn't take long to flense a body ; three months or more

Wolfstar ! It is EXTREMELY important to get to the infinitesimal bottom of this. We must ABSOLUTELY clear Condit or hang the bastard ! We can NOT go along in crisis knowing there are two or more levels of justice reserved for monsters by rank and pecking order. We MUST have confidence in our system and some modicum of confidence for those in Congress. This is PRECISELY WHY we MUST get to the bottom of the Chandra Levy Murder. Crime and Punishment and Accountability.

"At no point was it suggested that this was done in a vehicle"

A car was involved at some point, to transport the body, or the killers. I'm trying to get you to admit that even a professional killer/butcher would be desperately concerned about evidence. Any dismemberment, in any condition, would leave an unmanagable DNA trail, even if it were done at a car wash, in a lake, or under a waterfall. You have no idea.

Equally silly are the suggestions that anyone would risk further relocating, rearranging, or manipulating the remains after it was dumped. Why would any one risk the exposure, if they could be connected to the crime?

This crime is believed by most to have been done by men trying to protect themselves from discovery and exposure in the first place. They would do nothing which would increase the risk of getting caught.

Nice BUT 1) speed in hiding a body is essential...look at the paved access to the cliff from the top 2) it would not be found if animals ate it 3) the area IS inaccessible , from the bottom, at least for idiots like the DC police and their AffAct Trainees 4) the furor had died down and what better place to put it than the place that had been searched so "diligently" Worked didn't it !

Two years of human anatomy(prosection)and years of deer hunting tell me it is not that difficult to sever a leg at the hip....let the lady continue....question severely but lets not snipe at her...she's doing a good job !

Actually, on the points you make in your post, I would agree with you. Unfortunately, I believe the pathetic D.C. police blew it big time on this case. Also, there is nothing "we" can do about it except to keep the pressure on. I do not think the wild theorizing about the case that I've seen on FR helps, because it is to easy to dismiss as the fantasies of "crackpot" conspiracy theorists.

Maybe, but maybe not. What you said would be interesting if true. Do some research and let us know what you find.

What if the perp were in a hurry when he retreived the body from the first site and the leg pulled away because it was still partially burried? Probably not. Hope you keep trying to figure this out. Fascinating.

and any lime would still be on the bones

But we don't know there isn't. This skeleton was sent to the FBI crime lab, not exactly a model of honesty or transparency.

If the body were covered with CaCo3 it would look like a nice mummy right now...or better....consider a Lowes chest type freezer and imagine a contorted position...placed there after death...frozen makes a nice package for transport except for the occasional protruding left leg I'm outta' here...never did like anatomy
