Look, this is all irrelevant.
The FACT is that the pathology of same-sex attraction (there really is no such thing as "homosexuality") is actually well-known, well-documented, but patently ignored due to political correctness.
Look at the NARTH website; there's a lot of good, reasonable and rational information there.
Same-sex attraction occurs due to neuroses that cause these individuals to develop distorted views in the proper relationships with members of their own sex.
That's why Reparative Therapy works: It strives to "reparent" the individual who is thus affected, and develop healthy attitudes about relations with both their own the and the opposite gender.
Again, the pathology was simply removed in the 1970s by the APA due to political correctness; the pathology remains.

Is There A Gay Gene? First of all, the notion that there is a "gay gene" is absurd, but that does not imply that genetics do not influence sexuality. There almost certainly are genetic factors which influence a person's level of sexual attraction to other males and other females. Rather than denying that, I think it much more productive to recognize that it doesn't really matter. People are responsible for their own actions; even if it could be shown that a person was genetically predisposed to be attracted to 12-year-olds (of either sex) that would neither morally nor legally justify child molestation. While I personally would be perfectly content to leave homosexuals alone provided they return the favor (hey, two less men competing with me for a date), that is motivated more by a general belief in privacy than a desire to condone their activities.

I'm still ot sure why evolution would not have weeded out a "gay gene" millenia ago...Ergo, either the "gay gene" doesn't exist, evolution doesn't exist, or neither exists...

Lohr suspects that the type of disgust associated with homophobia arises from social conditions rather than psychological ones -- that it represents a prejudicial attitude more akin to racism than to phobia. If that's the case, any attempt to treat or reduce homophobia would have to be conducted through a process of attitude reformation, which could occur in a social context such as homes or schools rather than in a clinical setting. Telling....

Well it ain't obvious to the liberals.

Out of curiosity, are you gay? Let's not be PC, the question is.."are you a homosexual?"

I'd like to know how a gay gene is supposed to be passed on in the first place...

Good commentary. :-)

All that should be required of people is to be civil. The "treatment" (mind-cleansing) is unnnecessary. You shouldn't be forced to approve of homosexuals, but it's certainly not right to go calling them names or attack them, just like it's wrong to call anyone names or attack them. That is okay for the schools to emphasize--name-calling is wrong. Hitting and bullying are wrong. No need to mention homosexuality at all.
Fat kiids get teased way more than "gay" kids, but you don't see the effort to drag fat activists in or put on "fat" plays. Now, why is that?

prejudicial attitude more akin to racism
I confess that I had missed this little jewel. I guess they'd reached a part of the report where they felt it was time to add a little shot of PC-ness-- for the sake of job security, maybe?.
To: Clara Lou
I think it's funny that the PC reporter could not write the story without repeatedly using the discredited term.
Now we need a bunch of linguists to do a study discounting the term "anti-choice."

Homophobia is not an actual phobia.

I was hoping my homophobia would qualify me for the Americans with Disabilities Act.So, you want to have some fun using the ADA, eh? Here's what you do:
First, do whatever it takes to sever your spinal cord. Have stairs at home? You can start by throwing yourself down them.
Second, hire a shark--er, lawyer.
Third, roll around in a wheelchair with your sh--er, lawyer and sue various public establishments for not allowing you access to any customer area you please. Make sure you ask for large enough awards to shut them down.
Fourth, buy a gun. You'll need it when people catch on to what you're doing. );-)

Without my glasses I read that as logjam, or log jammer. Might be a synonym of fudgepacker.Dude, it's not wise to disparage FReeper names. A couple time, I wound up with my foot so far down my throat that my toes were peeking out of my @$$.
To: Hacksaw; jlogajan
Out of curiosity, [is jlogajan] gay?If he is, he appears to be ashamed to admit it.
A sense of shame is good. It means there's hope.
To: Arioch7
It seems to me that the Homosexual Lobby feels so guilty unconsciously that they want to MAKE the world approve. That seems to be a sensible explanation.
