Bomb shelters??! "Names are for tombstones, baby..."
When the big one hits, you need only bend way over and plant your head firmly up your nether regions, and kiss your @$$ goodbye.

Interesting but no matter how you look at it, 'one' can put their head between their arse and kiss it goodbye.

I'm supossed to build one or two more? Why didn't anyone tell me? I may have to rip out the one I built in the October 87 Stock Market scare, but the two I built for Y2K should still have plenty of life in them. How long does cup-O-soup stay fresh?

I think the good Lord I live in flyover country. Nothing much around here worth hitting.
For a fairly realistic look at what it would be like after an all out nuke war, check the made for TV movie, "The Day After" starring Jason Robards. Take some antidepressant first though.

Don't forget about fallout radiation. I understand that Potassium Iodide or Potassium Iodate will save your thyroid in the event of radioactive fallout.
If a nuclear event occurs here, it will be impossible to get, if you don't already have it on hand.

Your state is beautiful and i would consider seeking deep shelter as well. But... timing... do you move in the caves now? Live there? It may be ok if after an alleged hit little impact damage is received. Minimal after effects and this could be wise.

parsi, you might think of laying on a few more supplies. Little Rock is within fallout range of two nuclear facilities, plus we have all of those stockpiles of chemical weapons sitting real close. I keep enough emergency supplies for a couple of weeks (food, water, shelter, first aid, potassium iodate, money, etc...) all ready to grab and go in case I need to evacuate Little Rock and the surrounding area in a big hurry.
Unfortunately, I'm living in an apartment right now, and my landlord would frown on the idea of me digging a big hole in the ground, so I don't have a shelter.
