You sir are more than welcome as a copperhead. And Tex, some folks around here think that we owed the north for Fort Sumter before we started attacking troops on the sovereign territory of South Carolina. As if they hadn't taken enough money from in the years previous

And I don't HATE Yankees....I have at least 3 friends from the New York area...."Now don't get me wrong, some of my best friends are..."

Bzzzzzzzzzt. Sorry, wrong answer. Ronald Reagan was
born in Tampico, Illinois, spent much of his
childhood in Dixon, Illinois and went to
Eureka College in Eureka, IL, a small, private, very conservative college located north of Bloomington/Normal, IL, where he was a
fraternity brother of my grandfather.

Ah, Chicago is in the midwest, not the North. And those from Chicago are not Yankees. Though, outside of America, ALL Americans are considered to be and called Yankees.
And I just love having fun with southerners and pointing out that many of the things they know, love, and consider their "southern culture" or way of life or to be a 'southern thing' are most often an invention or creation of a YANKEE!
Tea being one of them. Invented in St. Louis.

I'm a Yankee, born and raised in the Land of Lincoln, just like Ronald Reagan. Other than being marooned stationed in Charleston for most of my active duty naval career I have lived my life above the Mason-Dixon Line. As for what TexConfederate1861, Shuckmaster, Twodees and other "neo-Confederates" think of me, well, I confess that if I had the slightest respect for them or their opinions then I might be bothered about how they felt. But since I don't then I can honestly say that don't give a damn for what they think of me.

No, nothing to do with the party line. I can just see this thread devolving into a name calling bash fest and those threads normally get pulled.

I just believe in LIVE and LET LIVE..... Of course, to Ruffin that philosophy applied only to white people.

I think the rebs here on FR come out once a week, blow their horn and then retreat for another week. There are some here who never post, except threads about the League of the South and that nonsense.
After 9-11 they were gone for months, but they slowly crept back in (curiously about the same time as the Democrats decided that it was safe to start bashing Bush again).
The South is dead - and will NEVER rise again! Get over it.
Hardly. The "CONFEDERACY" is dead, but the southeastern United States are VERY much alive, as those of us who prefer to live here exclusively can attest.
I LOVE the South. But I continue to challenge ALL those who insist that I have to support a rebellion of slave-owners against the legitimate government of the United States to "truly" be "Southern". That's just bullsh*t.

Why do I get the impression that many neo-Confederates merely want to go back to the days of the South when everybody knew their place (wink wink nudge nudge)?

Really? always thought it came from INDIA?!
To: shigure
That's not the point. The point is he made the statement that "Southerners never murder innocent people."
The isolated incidents you portray don't mean a thing in that context.

Well, if when you hear "tea" you are thinking of the tea from India, then you sir are no southerner.

Let me clarify some points...I DO NOT, NOR EVER HAVE supported the idea of a rebellion....
TWO: I believe that slavery is morally wrong.
Three: I believe in equality
AND I AM ONE PROUD TEXAN AND SOUTHRON...
and I am not...."NEO" anything!
To: 4ConservativeJustices
So your definition of "Free Speech" is "I speak and no one has the right to challenge what I say," did I get that right?
The state of "southern" public schools is sadder than I suspected.
