Funny to think that we scream at being "forced" to wear helmets, but think nothing of forcing rescue workers to view our splattered brains,

Rescue workers, one presumes, receive a paycheck every month and possess the right to quit their job at any time. They are not "forced" to do anything, then.

or forcing the insurance premiums of drivers to go up.

The problem here is that government forces people to purchase insurance. If one were free to abstain from making a bet against oneself - OOPS, I mean, buying an "insurance policy" - then this would be a moot point. No one could be "forced" to have their insurance premiums to go up if no one were forced to engage in this form of gambling in the first place.

The sarcasm tag looks something like this: < /sarcasm > :^)

Taxes should not rise to the level of confiscation.

If what's being confiscated is a society's compassion and sense of charity, I wholly agree. Governments do some things well (nat. defense) and fail miserably at others. What's missing is the honesty to admit when monies budgeted are wasted. Private corporations face bankruptcy, public agencies are satisfied with the same appropriation the following year, if not an increase in funding.

Are you being facetious about the nose ring? Either he or she stopped to help you, or you didn't keep your eyes on the road.

No, she didn't stop to help. She changed lanes on top of me. I was watching the road or she would have hit me.

You know, we don't get along. But that was a nice post to me from you. THANKS.

Hmmm. I'm trying to remember if I ever read anything of yours before. Even so, glad you are okay.
