Why does this sound like a story the national enquirer would print?

Sorry, but that sounds so laughable and unbelievable that it is almost sad. To me, this indicates that someone knew what was going down and wrote a silly letter knowing it probably wouldn't be taken seriously. Would any of us take that letter seriously? After planning this attack for two years, why would they send a warning note?
