Mike listens to "How to be stupid" tapes in his sleep.

He is the reluctant owner of a rifle. "I went to open up this bank account in Michigan and they gave me one."

IIRC, he deliberately went to that particular bank precisely because of the novelty of the account-opening "gift", and its relation to his movie. I seriously doubt he was "reluctant".

Dean Wormer said it all when it comes to this putz:

Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son.

If he was drunk his mindset would be more explainable. There's a guy at my bar who sounds a lot like him when he's lit up. We say he's a living example of why they used to close the bars on Election Day. >:)

But it's guns he wants to talk about. Moore is obsessed by them. He is the reluctant owner of a rifle. "I went to open up this bank account in Michigan and they gave me one." His wife wants him to get rid of it, but it's still languishing in the closet. "It's not loaded. There's no ammunition anywhere near it." He doesn't like having it around, but he can't bring himself to dispose of it.
His closet? In his place in Manhattan?

Does he have a permit or is he being a naughty boy?? >:)

I was visiting the South Rim of the Grand Canyon a few years ago, and to my surprise noticed that a high overhanging lookout point had NO guardrails. I asked the ranger about it, and he said "well we used to have guardrails, but no one fell off so we took them down."

"It's something we're raised with in the United States – to believe in not only the gun, but using violence to get what we want and enforce a class system, so the have-nots stay there."

Is Mr. Moore saying that without guns in the U.S. that the have-nots would rise up and unseat the right-wing government and take over? And he's in favor of gun control?

"The early genesis of fear in America came from having a slave population..."

Gun Control was first used to keep guns out of negroes hands AFTER the Civil War. It's still being used today in large urban cities, Washington, New York, Philadelphia, etc. Gun Control is racist. Buy a gun for a poor urban black family today!

Guns were used to kill the indians who used to rape, burn and pillage early American settlements. I live in Ohio, and know my state's history. This state/territory ran red with both indian and settler blood for 20 years.

Ya know, it just doesn't do any good debating lefties in the family. Especially in-laws; they might come in handy someday...

Agreed. The couple of times that I have snapped at the bait, I've wound up being the bad guy for hammering a Klinton lover. It's better to just grin and bear it. Let them make themselves look like jackasses.

The flaw here is that you're using logic. Liberalism, much like Muslim, relies on believers who don't think too much or ask hard questions. You have to just turn off your brain and love them for being the "celebrities" that they are. (Just like Bubba Klinton. All he is is a manufactured celebrity. There's a lot of blind morons who love them because ABCNBCNNBCBS tells them they're wonderful).

Actually, the first gun-control laws were part of the post-Reconstruction Black Codes.

Yes, and the prohibition of such gun control laws was specifically cited by the drafters of the Fourteenth Amendment as one element of their original intent. Unfortunately, the courts have found excuses to avoid enforcing the requirement that the states respect the RKBA.
