Unfortunately "cultural conservatism" is sort of a religious socialism come to hijack political conservatism. In point of fact, it is largely reactionary. The agenda of the "Radical Right" would be familiar to Tocqueville.

Do I take the side of a trained physician on issues of health, or do I side with a guy who reads peer reviewed publications You should read the peer reviewed publications.

What defines homosexuality? Would it not be attraction?
Are you not attracted to a particular gender, regardless of whether you act on it.
To: FITZ
What defines homosexuality? If someone doesn't ever engage in the acts are they a homosexual? Or is a homosexual someone who has sex with a member of their same gender?Exactly where my thoughts were heading.
To: Shethink13
your specialty which would be Design engineer -- hence familiar with logic and statistical analysis -- but do read the peer reviewed papers. We bandy opinions here. The good stuff is peer reviewed for a reason.
To: FITZ
If someone doesn't ever engage in the acts are they a homosexual? If that is the case, then a celibate priest, and in fact, any celibate kid or adult, is neither homo nor hetero. Somehow I think they have particular attractions though -- speaking from personal experience. :-)

You should read the peer reviewed publications. All of them, or just the ones that agree with my agenda?

All of them, or just the ones that agree with my agenda? Your level of intellectual honesty is up to you.
To: jlogajan
Your level of intellectual honesty is up to you.Well, in that case I wouldn't have to do much extensive reading to surpass YOUR intellectual honesty.

Well, in that case I wouldn't have to do much extensive reading to surpass YOUR intellectual honesty. Aim high. :-)

"What kind of healthy heterosexual man is going to become a celibate priest" The kind that answers God's call to be a celibate priest. There are quite a few called to do so; some even answer the call in today's world.

Now stop that: you know perfectly well that the Levitical censure of homosexuality is reiterated by the Holy Apostle Paul, while the purely cultic laws (no pork, no linen-wool blend clothing,...) were set aside by the Holy Apostles at the Council of Jerusalem recorded in Acts 15.

There are still many celibate homosexual priests out there. Any many that are not, as evidenced by scores of broken lives, suicides, and a hellish existence because of homosexual rape at the hands of evil men within the church.

To: Shethink13
Leave bisexuals out of account, doesn't it, and they seem to be more numerous than men who only have homosexual sex. What do we called these guys? Confused?

What kind of healthy heterosexual man is going to become a celibate priest??A man who loves God above all else, a man who is willing to give up carnal desires for the God he loves.
A celebate priesthood isn't anything new. St. Paul, the apostle, was celebate and Jesus Himself spoke favorably upon celebacy if it was chosen for God and serving God. Like marriage, the priesthood is a Vocation, and something to be revered and given into fully.
God bless.

It's the sinner that ends up in hell now isn't it, along with his sin and little good it does him that anyone loves him. Loving him, is telling him like it is before the big exit.
To: jlogajan
I don't know if it is simple attraction or the act itself. If a man is more attracted to another man but represses that and doesn't have sex with anyone ---or a woman doesn't like men but never touches another woman ---maybe those aren't homosexuals.

What is the rate of homosexual rape versus heterosexual rape both within the church and outside the church? You know, Mr. atheist, I've watched you here--and you are getting more and more hysterical. Perhaps, is this discussion threatening you in some way?
On yesterday's post, you were trying to divert the subject away from posts that showed homosexuals are more promiscuous than hetersoexuals, and whenever someone offered statistics, you did things like:
Well, .0092 times 89% is NOT $59.76!!!!!!!!!!!
A bit of an exaggeration--but you are comical when you get cornered.
These matter not. What matters is there are homosexuals who have raped children, and they need to be purged and punished.
