It's sounds almost as though the Sun-Times is surprised to discover that Dubya is not really a conservative and never has been.  It's hard, though, to imagine anyone that stupid.

I keep trying hard to find something to like about Dubya, but every time he accidentally does something that actually resembles conservative principles, I don't have to wait long for the other shoe to drop.

He certainly won't get my vote in 2004.  Unfortunately, since most leading Republicans have also become almost as corrupted by power, that means that I will probably have to vote Libertarian.

On the other hand, with all the wealthy people flooding out of the US, because of Dubya's attacks on wealthy taxpayers, it's possible that things could become so bad by that time, that I might not be here to vote then.  I'm not among the wealthy.  But, if those people are not safe from government persecution, what does that say for people like you and me?

Dubya is no better than his daddy and as this article shows, in some ways, he is much worse.

Until the ignorant masses rise up and demand change there will be none.

Remember that it's not just people's ignorance... it's also the government intentionally trying to prevent people from finding out how much and when they pay. EG withholding from paychecks makes people think it is the government's money to start with, half the taxes we pay are not listed or shown anywhere (in the prices of goods and services).

To make progress, we can't just wait for ignorance to fade, we must actively educate the masses.

Who else is going to do it?

Get a Libertarian or ANY candidate to re-introduce the Flat Tax, and National Sales Tax debate into the 2004 Election rhetoric.
