Buchanan should move to France where they'll appreciate his protectionist, pro Arab, Surrender First! views.

I thought it was a pretty straightforward commentary. More in the line of GW bashing then anti-Semitic. Of course a lot of the locals hate Pat with a passion, and his criticism of Israeli policy, and the blind support in the halls of congress, is seen as racially motivated. His comparison of Eitam to Milosevic, is not that out of line, but of course I didn't see the big deal about Slobodan either. Personally I think we should support Israel to the hilt, and let them do as they see fit. Bush should have kept his comments to the back channel, so as not to be rebuffed in public, but of course he didn't. He could have used some of that highly regarded experience in his cabinet, and kept his mouth shut. Then again, maybe his cabinet is overrated, as his decision making seems to be on this issue.

"Maybe, but you have to go back a couple weeks and Israel said they need two weeks and we're close to that now. Bush and Sharon made this plan when Sharon was in the US last month.
Not trying to mess with you but I don't remember this two weeks you talk about. Not at all. But could be true. My own feeling is events take on a life of their own....And this is what has happened with Israel's massive incursion into the West Bank. This has TREMENDOUS support within Israel and is a real morale booster. Something that really should have been done a year ago or more."
Dennis Roth was on Foxnews on Saturday and explained this pretty well. He was the mideast envoy a few years ago but comes accross as pretty conservative hawk. He laid out the entire plan and has serious contacts still in the admin so I take it he's got good info?
He said something about Israel finding more then then thought they would find and it is gonna take way longer then they thought !

Another Shot In The Foot
Israel's idea of partnership is for the United States to do what it says while it refuses to adopt any suggestions we make. Look, here are the facts: Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said the day he took office that he would not negotiate a final settlement with the Palestinians. And during his entire time in office, he has refused to meet with Yasser Arafat and has engaged in a campaign to discredit Arafat and to break the spirit of the Palestinians. When the Saudi peace plan was proposed, he rejected it immediately. Israel, he said and still says, will never withdraw to the 1967 boundaries. Well, no withdrawal, no peace; no peace, no Arab cooperation with the U.S. scheme to overthrow Saddam.
We are in the beginning of payback time for our hypocritical policy of exempting Israel from every one of the ideals that we laboriously preach. Self-determination is a must for Albanians in Kosovo - not for Palestinians. Refugees have a right to return or receive compensation - but not Palestinian refugees. Countries must obey U.N. Security Council resolutions - but not Israel, which sits in defiance of more than 60. Countries that routinely violate human rights deserve sanctions - except Israel. Countries that assassinate political enemies are state sponsors of terrorism - but not Israel.
Countries must not use American-donated weapons for offensive purposes - except for Israel. People who commit war crimes must be put on trial - unless they are Israelis.

One has to wonder about Pat when readng something like this. Is he anti-semitic? Or does he simply not want to disappoint many of his followers that are?

And you an America firster! Is it wrong for Buchanan, or any other American, to be an America firster? I guarantee that Sharon is an Israeli firster.

I hope so. I've been really down on GW Bush over this. I hope it's part of a brilliant strategy and I'm just not seeing his angle. In the last 3 days, I've gotten really disappointed with him.

Bush evidently thinks he can win the Arab countries over, just like he thought he could win Beady eyed Daschle over. His war on terror is going to collapse with decisions like this. He is a guaranted to be a one termer.

"Refugees have a right to return or receive compensation - but not Palestinian refugees. "
Israel absorbed 800,000 Jewish refugees from Europe immediately after statehood. Yessir You'reAfart refused to absorb Arab refugees and put them in the camps that he created. He keeps them there - suffering - as a bogus political tool to discredit Isreal.
The Arabs wanted no part of Israel until the Jewish people began to make it valuable. "Refugee" status is a big fat lie of Arafat's making.

Do you hate Israel that much??? No, I just don't see how the issue over Jerusalem will ever be resolved. Yes, I would wish the UN on my worst enemy, in fact, on almost anyone as long as it gets the UN out of the US.
