there is a type of snail, can't recall the name that is deadlier than either of them

Could you be thinking of cone shells? They can be quite deadly. Never been stung by one, only by Scorpion Fish and Portuguese Man-of-War, and of course stuck by sea urchins. The Man-of -War burns, but the Scorpion Fish really packs a wallop! Octopus and squid are delicious, sea urchin isn't bad, can't eat jellyfish (not even with peanut butter), but Scorpion Fish is one of the finest salt-water fish you can dine on. Tastes like fresh water bass.

You'll probably see one at least that size in the Tacoma, WA area, if you dive Hood Canal or the center pier of the Narrows Bridge.

This article has been indexed to the following Bump List folders:

The_Octopus: Information relating to PROMIS, the Inslaw scandal, the Octopus, and the death of Danny Casolaro.

...Now it all makes sense, the deaths, the coverups, shipments through Mena, Arkansas, and now it ends in New Zealand.

With all due respect, was it really necessary to link a picture with a file size of 2,652,655 bytes? I have a fast connection and it still takes way too long.

Come on DeSoto...the heading said GIANT Octopus! You were warned.

Hmmmmm...... Some butter, minced garlic, a little oregano (a little oregano goes a long way),
sauteed and served on a bed of linguini and served with a nice chianti.
Good eatin'!!

Well.... I can link the whole world, including all the giant octopii, with a file size of 40,038 bytes. And as an added bonus, most people can actually tell what they are looking act. The #39 photo is near impossible to decipher, I see a drawing or painting of a giant octopus, that looks pretty old. I have know idea what it is painted on, or why it is important to this thread. There is no explanation, no link or reference, and no clue other than a very large, thread slowing (stopping?) picture of something with a crude picture of an octopus drawn on it.

Sorry to be grouchy about this, but not long ago I could only get dial-up service and it peaked at 26.4 Kbps. A picture like that would have taken over an hour to download and would have been a complete waste of time and bandwidth.

OK, enough griping about this, I'll be quiet.

Oh oh... I forgot the picture....guess I gotta break my 'silence'. Sorry. 8^)

file size 40,038 bytes

BTW, if you look real carefully, right there on the right.... no, a little lower down..... yeah, yeah right there, SEE?? It's a giant octopus, just like the story said.

Attention, New Zealanders - please remain calm. PM Clark has been located .....

Peking again?

...... but the threat has not been neutralized .....

Can't say "shoot the ugly bitch," I suppose?

Then how about, "they shoot horses, don't they?"
