Woody Allen’s been in therapy longer than most people have been alive. So it was only fitting he received a standing ovation from the Oscar crowd.

Worth repeating. Didn't watch it, but much admit I've seen pieces of Halle Berry's acceptance several times on various news shows. Good stuff! Anything that gives me that deep of a belly laugh is worthwhile viewing.

All Halle Berry really did the other night was expose the hypocrisy of the Hollow-wood crowd. Her acceptance speech pretty much accused the industry of discrimination against black entertainers. But how can that be? They are so enlightened and better than the rest of us. Hollow-wood will somehow make their discrimination look like the fault of the rest of us.

Aside from Ms. Berry's self-demeaning rush of inane words, did anyone catch her grammatical error:

"This moment is bigger than me."

Wrong, Ms. Berry. "This moment is bigger than I am."

Pitiful.

Did you notice that Denzel Washington did not walk the racist plank with the others? He appropriately assumed that he won because he was the best, not because he was black. An encouraging moment in a discouraging evening.

EVERYTHING outside of Hollywood is bigger more relevant
than what crawls around inside the guts of the entertainment industry.

Well, the illegal aliens are a lot smarter than the Hollywood stars. They know what a great country this is, and how you can still start with nothing and become successful, especially if you get some kind of education.

Maybe we should trade our Hollywood stars to Mexico.

Maybe we should trade our Hollywood stars to Mexico.

Or maybe Cuba, since many of them appear so enamored with "scientific socialism."

Denzel, Halle, and Will Smith, spent the last month telling their peers, that if the blacks did not win, then it is shear racism.

I saw each of them in numerous interviews saying that they deserved it because of years of neglect.

After he won, Denzel then said to a newspaper reporter, "do not put "black" in your headline, only "actor", when describing my win".

The black community is very confused.

The black community is very confused.

If you had the Most Reverends Jackson and Sharpton running around in your neighborhood, you'd be very confused too.

"This could be because there’s a widening disconnect between what America wants in entertainment and what trash Hollywood churns out."

It is all part of the Cultural Dark Ages we are now experiencing. Which is a result of the dumbing down of America. More importance placed on sports than academics in our universities. Culture being unduely influenced by popular icons who have a forum from which to speak, but have nothing of import to say.

I hate to be pedantic, but I’m fairly certain that it’s “This moment be bigger than I is.”

Well, who is paying the prices to go to the movies? Who is paying the prices to go to ball games? Those are the real idiots. The pseudo idiots are the ones at home who watch on tv or rent the vidoes. The people who attended the awards are merely the representative of all of the fools who keep the system going. Baseball players getting paid too much? Don't go the games and don't buy the products that sponsor them on tv. Never happen. You cry false tears and pretend you are above the fray by mocking the awards. The silent heroes never pay the admission price or even know the kind of trash that is out there. Hypocrites one all.

If you pay any attention to what's going on in the world, isn't it impossible not to know the kind of trash that is out there?

BTW, these are not false tears. As mentioned, I'm not trained in show biz.

He appropriately assumed that he won because he was the best, not because he was black.

Intersting comment. The whole thing just shows how racist (and stupid) those people are. They give Halle and Denzel the awards, and then blatantly tarnish the whole thing by making it all about their race. They (the Hollywood people) make themselves feel better by talking about how racist they are, and then prove it by saying that the black actors can't make it without their benevolent protection.

As an aside, the NAACP remained true to form by making a statement that the awards for Washington and Berry weren't good enough.
