Once they're gone, we can turn the lights off." It seems logical, then, that we first need to direct our efforts on the left, even though it will require us to cut deals we might not like. Only when we have defeated the left can we begin to roll back big government.
Any thoughts?

It sounds to me like conservatives need a new "contract with America". It's all good to talk about "defeating the left", but what does that mean EXACTLY? Not rhetoric; what does it mean in hard, cold, reality?
Make me a list, chums. Or, better yet, make me two lists: One with what you would stop the left from doing that they are trying to do (ie gun control, etc.), and the other with what you want the government TO do. This shouldn't be too hard; I'm just asking for a PRACTICAL wish list. You can argue about items if you like.
