Jim Ryan is pro-life except for rape, incest, and the life of the mother. Why does O'Malley act like Jim Ryan needs to be supervised by O'Malley's supporters?
To: blackelk

Does O'Malley know you still will be voting for RAT this year???..

It doesn't matter what I think, because in a few months' time I will be living in another state, where "gun control" means three bullets through the same hole.
And when I cross the Illinois border for the last time, I'll burn my horrible Firearm Owners ID card, toss the embers into the ditch, and shout: "Free at last! Free at last! Great God Almisghty, free at last!"
A pox on Illinois, Hizzoner Daley, "Red" Blagoyevitch, and all the other socialist gun-grabbers too numerous to mention.
To: Barnacle
If Jim Ryan gets O'Malley's endorsement and Jim Ryan gets a little better on guns (my sole issue), then there is a chance I will not be leaving the governors line blank in the next election.

For some, if you are not a PURE conserative, you are not good enough...........e.g how dare he allow abortion in case of rape, incest, and the life of the mother. ...... for some to be a pure conservative , you have to ban all abortions, and ban all birth controls methods...........

And when I cross the Illinois border for the last time, I'll burn my horrible Firearm Owners ID card, toss the embers into the ditch, and shout: "Free at last! Free at last! Great God Almisghty, free at last!"In some ways it is worse in New York State. To buy a handgun AT ALL in New York you must have a pistol permit. However, in most cases the pistol permit also allows you to carry concealed, which is impossible in Illinois.

How is Jim Ryan on guns? Do you know?
To: All
The most productive plan for conservatives is to vote for the most conservative candidate in the GOP primary, then vote Republican in November. I want an ultraconservative GOP myself, but responsibility is another conservative trait, and sitting at home pouting or leaving lines blank on ballots is not very productive, not to say totally immature. If you follow the above plan, you will maximize the numbers of conservatives in government. If you do otherwise, or commit the ultimate sin of voting 3rd party, enjoy your view from the sidelines. As for me, I will support the party that 1) can be elected and 2) that most closely mirrors my conservative and Christian views. I don't see an alternative to that that is comparable; not even close.....

I still have to pledge my support to Jim Ryan. Illinois will go to hell fast if Rod Blagojavech is elected. I know that the other Illinois FReepers will vote for Jim Ryan too. They know how frightening it would be to have Rod as Governor.

Ryan talks the pro-life talk. But, he doesn't do the pro-life walk. I'm sure some of the Illinois FReepers hear can provide specific examples that I've heard, but don't have readily available.

Drummer, The way things are going, I just may follow you. But, please retract the pox. There are still many good people you leave behind.

I hear you and am leaning that way too. But, that's if the events you describe actually happen.

Jim Ryan is pro-life except for rape, incest, and etc. Okay, that's interesting, pro-life, pro-abortion, whatever.
I'm glad he is pro-life. But is Jim Ryan a conservative?
To: Malcolm
I agree with you up to a point.
Ed Koch used to say, "If you agree with me on 8 out of 10 issues, vote for me. If you agree with me on 10 out of 10 issues.... see a psychiatrist."
I suppose even a disgusting scumbag like George Ryan is better than anything the rats can field, but there does have to be a line in the sand. For example, anybody with an ounce of common decency should never vote for somebody like Riordan or Jeffords, no matter what Party label they wear or who their opponent is. Saving the Party (and the country) from the likes of scumbags like George Ryan, Jim Greenwood, Mike Castle, and their ilk is critical. The Republican Party can never be allowed to fall into those hands. Whenever possible, these people must be buried in their primaries and the primary campaigns against them must be relentless.
To: Malcolm;Dengar01;Own Drummer
but responsibility is another conservative trait, Yes, so when are the so called conservative politicians going to start being responsible?
They know how frightening it would be to have Rod as Governor.
That's all the Illinois GOP can offer. Fear
A pox on Illinois, Hizzoner Daley, "Red" Blagoyevitch, and all the other socialist
I felt the same when when I left Illinois. Unfortunately I had to return.
Illinois will NEVER be a conservative state. It never has been one, and it never will be one

How is Jim Ryan on guns? Better than blag-O-crap
This is from the ISRA:
"He's the most anti-gun member of the U.S. House - and proud of it. He's boastful about his NRA "F" rating. He's a two term Congressman who has personally sponsored no less than 23 extremist gun control bills. He's Rod Blagojevich...and he want's to be your governor. If he succeeds, Illinois gun owners can expect to see their guns banned and confiscated. The next election day may be the last stand for gun owners in this state. "
Illinois gun owners are going to have to vote for Ryan
