Also, the number of people killed in the bombing yesterday increased to 7 including 4 Israeli soldiers.
I'd bet it was runny jello BEFORE the explosion.
Breaking into song.
I ain't got no Boooooody
and Nobody cares for me.
Mine too and I still can't understand the lack of outrage..
Did you even read what I wrote? Perhaps I should have typed more slowly. I did not compare the actual atrocity of 9/11 to JonBenet Ramsey, but rather extrapolated the notion of posting pics of dead and dying people -- ostensibly so that we won't forget one kind of evil -- to the notion of posting pics of an abused JonBenet so that we won't forget that kind of evil.I do believe that adult Americans can choose to view pictures and stories of what is happening in the world, that may come to our shores again. We need to be aware of the true evil that exists from terrorists. We cannot sit back and pretend that it is not happening.I'll give you a C- for at least recognizing that we don't have to see pictures of an abused JonBenet "to be aware of the true evil" that happened to her. Heck, I'll give you a B on that one.
Choose is the operative word here. The picture was originally posted without a warning that it contained graphic photos. Some folks around here feel the need to post them on all sorts of unrelated topics. It's one thing to subscribe to the Playboy Channel. It's another thing altogether to be watching the Cartoon Channel and have it suddenly break in to "Debbie Does Dallas."Onto a totally different subject like the Ramsey case. Child beauty pagents seem to be a regional issue; mainly pertaining to those in the southern regions of the U.S.So are you implying that no one can understand true evil unless we see pictures? Tell that to the Texan who hasn't forgotten the Alamo. Tell that to the American who hasn't forgotten Pearl Harbor. Do you really think that Americans in the 1940s pretended that Pearl Harbor never happened because they weren't shown pictures of broken bodies? Give me a break.
The idea that we somehow need to see pictures of the dead and dying presumes small minds and tiny imaginations.
That's funny, I've lived in the south all my life and never heard of such a thing until a few years ago. Most young girls and young women in the Northeast would rather play sports, be involved in an orchestra, and go onto Ivy League Universities. Parents in this area of the U.S. seem to place more focus on their childen's education and cultural pursuits and not their looks. Go figure.
Ah, so you've got a north vs. south thing. If you believe what you just wrote, I can only assume that you haven't spent much time outside of New Jersey or wherever you're from. Perhaps you should write for the New York Times -- they seem to share your narrow, uneducated point of view. I've traveled a lot in my life, and the idea that Hoboken children are little Beethovens and Austin children are born whistling the Love Theme to Deliverance is, to put it bluntly, a big ol' steamin' shovelful of you-know-what!I would suggest that you join an organization in your area of the country that would help eliminate the sexualization of children, instead of just complaining about it.One thing I can gather from your post is that the science of logic must be wholly unknown in the Northeast!
Um, does church count? Thanks for your hilarious observations -- you're a laugh!
