Mass GOP Governor Race: Swift out, Romney in

Who cares, at least the embarrassing Jane Swift is gone. Maybe now Gerald Amirault will have a chance of getting out of prison.

A Floridian pubbie needs to bring the democratic side of the equation to the table. The democratic opponent is former Senator Tolman who was an attorney at Holland & Knight. He resigned from H & K in order to run for governor of Massachusetts.

Coincidentally, Bill McBride of Holland & Knight law firm did the exact same thing here in Florida. The dems hand picking trial lawyers for governor races, specifically, from Holland & Knight law firm doesn't sit well with me. I urge everybody to get your Florida friends who support Jeb to work to defeat Bill McBride who was the top guy in Tampa/St. Pete. Their law firm is losing ground so he wasn't doing such a great job there after all. He is going to give Janet the boot shortly.

He is Mr. Corporate America which is okay but he does not pass the smell test in the client dept. and areas of practice. Just visit the Holland & Knight web site and see where they are, etc. They are global and in Orlando, H & K has BIG ties with the media. McBride's trying to distance himself from his law firm and his on line bio is pretty weak for somebody who wants to be governor unless you hold the Chamber of Commerce in high regard.

Tolman and McBride are both being rewarded for fundraising with these candidacies by the donkey party. If you want to really want to check out their law firm, do a google search of Martindale-Hubbell Holland & Knight. They are EVERYWHERE. Be concerned, very concerned. This is about Massachusetts AND Florida.

Glad to find out that Tolman's not very popular. Neither is McBride here in Florida. Guess I just don't trust the dems and Florida is like a prize they are after. It is not about public service, it's about taking Florida back from the POTUS' brother Jeb.

Well, he didn't break his promise. Romney hasn't officially announced yet and Swift, the incumbent, is officially out of the race.

Well Romney had an excellent chance to beat Teddy but he blew it. Having a double-digit lead at Labor Day, Romney decided to go after the liberal vote by alienating his conservative base. Big mistake. And the rest is history.

Romney is apparently not pro-fisting. Or at least he believes that "fisting" should not be taught to children until at least Junior High. This is apparently too "right wing" for Bill Weld, who announced his support for Swift just in time.

I understand if Romney has to be pro-choice for political reasons. But if he can't bring himself to cut Massachusettans' taxes, he's not qualified to be Governor. And as Rush said on today's program, the reason he lost to Ted the last time was that he agreed with Ted on everything. And if he's going to follow the same strategery with Robert Reichhhhhhhh.... Reich will beat the stuffing out of him and conservatives in the Bay State WILL turn to Carla Howell. So at the very least be an economic conservative, will ya Mitt?

I guess it all depends on the definition of 'incumbent'. They all seem to have trouble with truth telling. I personally would rather have Swift running than a liar.

Yep. These wannabes need to remind themselves that Ronald Reagan won not one, but two consecutive elections in Massachusetts and never once tried to be a liberal. Coincidence? I think not.

I would rather Mitt consider flip-flopping on challenging a GOP incumbent rather than "fib" about using state employees for personal babysitters and transportation (in a helicopter!?!?). Swifty still doesn't have all her stories straight.

If you put up two fibbers (and I am not saying Mitt is), I will take the self-made venture capitalist that has a CV of effective management that runs from Boston to Salt Lake any day of the week and twice on Sundays, thank you very much.
