--thanks for the bump to the article. The phillipines are gonna be a bit different from the open moutainous terrain in ashcanistan. Every area has different obstacles. The main one that might be present there is local popular support along with the dense jungle. If the islamic terrs there have overwhelming large local support, it's gonna get worse before better. Just the nature of guerrilla warfare.

We didn't do anything to Americans of German ancestry. In large numbers, it was only the Americans of Japanese ancestry who got locked up and had their property confiscated.

"German" and "Japanese" refer to nationalities, one's origin, which one has no control over. By fighting and winning WWII we didn't change anyone from being German nor did we TRY.

The valid comparison is not GERMAN to ISLAM I(that's apples to oranges), but rather NAZI to ISLAM. Nazism and Mohamedanism are both CREEDS---violent ideologies (that are both sworn, incidentally, to our destruction.) In their world, it's "Us or them." There is no co-existence or bi-lateral agreement. Now, if we want to be conscientious objectors, we can let them kill us. We can give peace a chance, and surrender Western civilization to the barbarian hordes who have sought its destruction for 13 centuries.

What we DID in WWII was this: we exterminated Nazism. Oh, sure, there are cells here and there (I'm no expert, but I read now and then it is alive in Germany.) But you DON'T see Nazi's exterminating Jews or killing American soldiers on Alsace or Brittany beacheads. And if some Nazi's took out a Matthew Shepard or dragged a black or a Jew behind a truck here in the U.S., the outcry from the left would DWARF the left's concern over September 11. We sought the Nazis out during and after WWII and effectively exterminated them from the face of the earth. The ones we did not kill disavowed their allegiance and abandoned their Nazi ways. We are giving the mohammedans the same opportunity. As President Bush said: you are either with us, or you are against us.

If you look at how many Germans supported the Nazis----and I wager that a far, far, far greater percentage of Muslims support these killers. I believe Dubya recognizes the magnitude of the task. There are many, many Americans who do not.

I agree wholeheartedly and here's some additional perspective. Vietnam, a Communist country of 77 or so million people, includes a population of Communists numbering only two million soul-less dufuses. How do they do this? Well, they control a police force of one million and a standing army of one million - so in VN there are 3 - 4 million people controlling and repressing the entire citizenry.

Yes, that is true; however it was Japanese located on the West Coast who were relocated from the coastal areas to the interior camps. Japanese residing in the interior were not sent to camps. Relocation was done to prevent a small number from signaling to offshore Japanese vessels.
