I think that the key to the Govs race is conservatives. As you can tell from the 2000 elections conservatives will stay at home and not vote if they are not given a reason to vote. Except for the Land Commisioner race(Go Jerry)there is not a conservative anywhere near the top of the ticket. Dewhurst is a Psuedo conservative but Perry is a moderate. Perry's supreme court nominee Xavier Rodriguez, a self proclaimed David Souter fan, got trounced in his primary against a conservative judge. If Perry does not come off at least halfway conservative then he is screwed because people won't vote for him. I have not made up my mind whether I will vote for him yet, and I am leaning towards voting for John Sharp in the Lite Gov race. If Kirk wins the Senate seat I am moving, far far away and I will be embarrsed to call myself a Texan.
