Heck, I either keep my radio tuned to the local "historical Black college" radio station--that lays down some of the best Jazz of yesterday and today that any afficianado could ask for--or I listen to my CD collection (got Talking Heads on the box right now).
Screw "modern pop music." It's dead and decaying.

FWIW, I'm a HUGE Metheny fan, I think I have nearly everything in his catalogue except a few like "Zero Tolerance for Silence" which upon hearing I wasn't really keen on.
Also Steely Dan, Weather Report, Yellowjackets, Diana Krall, Herbie Hancock, and the like. Metheny's latest is fine, BTW.

In 50 years, there will still be hundreds of bands covering Clash and Ramones songs. I sit here flipping thru this thread, my headphones on listening to Never Mind the Bollocks, and I couldn't agree with you more.
Teenagers will always like their music loud, hard and fast.

Teenagers, then, must be pretty stupid, and of course, musically illiterate.
