Not quite the image we would like to portray. We're not bimbos, we're responsible women, including everything from housewives to doctors to soccer mom executives.

There's some old-fashioned sexism at work here, too. Yes, guns are a traditionally masculine product, and the phrase "gun owner" usually conjures up an image of a man rather than a woman. But women do other traditionally masculine things now, and it's politically incorrect to make note of it. Would a good liberal reporter write that it's bizarre to see women playing college basketball, or studying engineering? I think not.

"One of my guy friends said, 'you're a chick with a gun I'm scared,' " recalled Elizabeth Abbate, beaming. I like her! :->
Is there an SAS chapter in Indiana? How can I join?

Our desire to defend ourselves from terrorism by buying firearms will mean, almost certainly, that thousands more Americans will die in the years ahead from gunfire. As long as they're the right people (burglars, muggers, rapists, and other criminals), what's the problem?

"Not quite the image we would like to portray. We're not bimbos, we're responsible women, including everything from housewives to doctors to soccer mom executives." Ah, me--but bimbos have an RKBA too. In fact, they may need it more than some others.

But tight controls on handguns mean that England's murder rate is only one-sixth of America's. The author needs to study research methodology. The first part of the statement does not necessarily correlate with the second. In fact, it absolutely doesn't -- a broad cross section of countries shows that firearms ownership rates have no real correlation to crime rates. Sociological factors, however, have very definite correlation to crime rates.

Mrs Ruth Price DIED HARD. NO ONE SHOULD EVER HAVE TO GO WITHOUT A FIGHTING CHANCE.
Bad guys don't live by the rules. Here is Mrs. Ruth Price story and I would think that you would agree she disagrees with this leftist extremist, anti-gun views. Here is Mrs. Price story. Another disarmed voice.
Mrs. Price speaks directly to the gun control extremists with a powerful message. Requires Audio setup, downloads in 30 seconds, however, well worth your wait for this message.

Have we forgotten already.
Women's talk about self defense.
From a woman's point of view

Who needs protection? The women of our lives, and our children, the poor who have little police protection, our grandparents, and parents, our wife, and our daughters need the right to self-defense at home and on the street. 2.2 million felons in jail, 3.5 million felons on probation, and 14 million drug abusers looking for their next fix. Do you think they are living in your city? Guns save lives. Gun free zones are killing zones for criminals. Most anti gun liberals are one mugging away from conservative views.
Dail 911 and die is more than a cute saying. It is life or death.
The actual 911 call is Mrs Price voice. Take this recording to every MMM and anti gun rally in the nation. Perhaps the MMM anti guns will be the next Mrs Price.
Another Mrs Price story in Columbus OHIO -- Dialed 911 and Died.
Mrs. Turner's story. Restraining orders, Killer telling police he was going to kill her, begging for life for several minutes, nor did phone call to 911 save this woman's life.

WOW, the New York Times really is upset about this wonderful expression of constitutional rights and the desire of these young women to properly defend themselves.

This 'news' piece was dripping with condescending and unconcealed contempt.
Pressholes suck.

I'm sure that Mr. Kristof is also aware of the staggering statistics regarding RAPE in the U.S. as well. I'm sure he knows that AT LEAST 1 of every 4 women in the U.S. will be raped during their lifetime. HOW could someone look at these statistics and NOT want the women in their lives to be protected??? Maybe Mr. Kristof would understand a little better if he had ever been held down at knifepoint and forced to perform with a total stranger... WE have a RIGHT, given to us by the Constitution...to PROTECT ourselves. Mr. Kristof's, (and mine) home State of Oregon has some of the most liberal Self Defense Laws written. I'm sure that if it were HIS mother or sister that were the ONE out of the FOUR...he'd remember quickly where he came from.

About 50 women at Mount Holyoke have signed up to join the college's chapter of Second Amendment Sisters. It is bizarre to sit on the campus of a liberal all-women's college in Massachusetts talking with students about their yearning for, say, a Smith & Wesson 9-millimeter semiautomatic but maybe that's just because I'm not used to feminists with guns. This is horrible! Horrible! The Humanity!
Why are these fine young women talking about S&W, somebody buy these babes a Glock, or at least a 1911A.

Nicholas Kristoff, who was at Tiananmen Square in 1989 reporting for the NYT and witnessed the massacre there, should know better than anyone how dangerous the world can be when only governments have guns. Sadly, some people will never get it.

Wonder if this idiot is including himself in the "us" that he writes about?
I can't help but wonder: is he contemplating rape, robbery, or murder?
Looking at that way, this whole article is nothing but an exercise in projection.
