So you've been Lurking all these years and only decided to 'get involved' at the end of February this year? Sure.
Got to have people you Trust in key positions, right? ------ Alumni in the Game Again
Way, way back in time (seems like just a few years ago :-) there was a bunch of bushes that were involved with HUGE FAILURES. You know, like Arbusto Energy, A passel of S&L's, Banks, BCCI, stuff like that. Now we've got ENRON, and GLOBAL CROSSING, and Arthur Andersen.
Of course it's all to PROTECT the U.S., isn't it?
Professor Partnoy's Senate Testimony
IV. Conclusion
How did Enron lose so much money? That question has dumbfounded investors and experts in recent months. But the basic answer is now apparent: Enron was a derivatives trading firm; it made billions trading derivatives, but it lost billions on virtually everything else it did, including projects in fiber-optic bandwidth, retail gas and power, water systems, and even technology stocks. Enron used its expertise in derivatives to hide these losses. For most people, the fact that Enron had transformed itself from an energy company into a derivatives trading firm is a surprise.
I'm shocked, shocked.........(end Claude Rains impersonation).
"Ken Lay didn't understand" {{{{smirk}}}.
You believe that, you'll believe anything........
Where in my post did I mention Mid East Oil?
No, not that one!
The one where he is stuffed inside of a briefcase with air holes and is let out for short walks on Rat lawns in DC!
Kenneth Lay didn't get to where he was by being naive or a "babe in the woods."
Everytime I think of him raising his hand to swear to "tell the truth" to Congress, and his wife whining
about how "broke" they were to NBC News' Liza Gibbons, I'd like to scream......"you phonies".....
Whenever I first saw pictures of his cabinet, I thought of the bar scene in the first Star Wars with all of the odd balls of the universe.
Later they looked like a group mug shot for the criminally insane!
His ACLU Lawyers were/are even worse than the cabinet!
