User hinckley buzzard had a good onliner on Democrats in this message:
For at least 70 years, the demoshit party has had a one-plank platform:

"Vote for me-- I'll take other people's money and give it to you."

One day a florist goes to a barber for a haircut. After the cut he asks the barber about his bill. "I am sorry, I cannot accept money from you. I am doing community service." The florist is pleased and leaves the shop. The next morning when the barber goes to open his shop, there is a thank you card and a dozen roses waiting at his door.

Later a Cop comes in for a haircut and he also goes to pay the barber, and the barber replies: "I'm sorry, I cannot accept money from you. I am doing community service." The cop is happy and leaves the shop. The next morning the barber goes to open his shop and there is a thank you card and a dozen donuts waiting at his door.

A Democrat comes for a hair cut and when he asks the barber what he owes, the barber replies, "I am sorry I cannot accept money from you. I am doing community service." The Democrat is very happy and leaves. The next morning when the barber goes to open his shop, a dozen Democrats are lined up waiting for a free haircut.

The Texas GOP site has a breakdown of differences:

Which Texas Party supports your values?
Compare the basic principles and values of the two major political parties and decide for yourself.
Republicans believe... Democrats believe...
…that the United States and the State of Texas were founded on the fundamental principle that individuals have certain rights and freedoms which cannot be infringed upon and may be restricted only to the degree necessary to preserve the rights of others. …that our Founding Fathers did not really mean what they said when they guaranteed certain constitutional rights such as the right to freedom of religious expression, the right to keep and bear arms, and the right to retain the use of private property.
…the money you earn is yours and that government in a free society has the right to take only as much as is needed to perform those limited functions, which are appropriate to it. …government has a right to use your money as it sees fit to fund welfare programs, redistribute wealth and to return to you only that portion of your money which is absolutely necessary.
…the traditional family and the values it fosters are the foundation of American society and their preservation is essential to our Nation's continued success. …American society must redefine its values and the role of the family to fit new lifestyle concepts, which have resulted from the 60's counter-culture movement and an attitude that promotes an abrogation of individual responsibility.
…parents have the right to determine the values with which their children will be raised and to have the widest possible choice among public, private and religious schools and that competition will improve public education. …the federal government has the right to determine the values which will be taught in public schools and parents' choice of schools must be limited to avoid exposing public schools to competitive forces which would encourage reform and increase accountability.
…that the free enterprise system is the most effective engine of economic progress. …that government regulation and federal control of economic activity can better distribute wealth and services to the American people.
…high taxes, runaway government spending, and over-regulation of business and farming punish initiative and stifle economic growth. …penalizing achievement with higher taxes and increased government bureaucracy and spending will not stifle economic growth but instead guarantee prosperity for everyone.
…that with freedom comes responsibility and that individuals must take personal responsibility for their own actions and our criminal justice system must be based on this idea. …individual behavior, including criminal behavior, can be blamed on "society" and that spending on social welfare programs and improvements in prison living conditions can combat crime.
…that your property is yours and you have the basic right to make use of it without unreasonable government restrictions. …the government has the right to regulate the use of private property in accordance with narrow special interests without giving just compensation to owners.
…human life is sacred and worthy of protection. …there should be no restrictions on abortion.
…the preservation of our rights and freedoms must be entrusted to a strong national defense and of the ability of the United States to negotiate with other nations from a position of strength. …we can afford to drastically weaken our military despite the threats present in an unstable, post-Cold War international environment and the United States must subjugate its interests to those of the United Nations.
…it is imperative today to re-affirm the traditional freedoms and values of America to preserve our great Republic. …that America must adopt a politically correct, multi-cultural set of values which denies common American heritage and will further divide American society.

From their website a couple years ago. Word about this was getting out and before the last election the names were no longer posted. I don't know if they have put them back on or not. I heard on TV (either Fox or Cspan) several weeks ago that it is now 59. Just to mention a couple...Maxine Waters and John Conyers.

The site (SP-USA.org) did not list the names only the number in congress that were members. I'm sorry....when I was replying, I was thinking of some of the members and typed names instead of number. It is late (my excuse).

Maxine Waters and John Conyers.

Yeah, I knew those two and I'm pretty certain Barbara Lee from California has bona fide Communist party credentials. I'd like to know more names- hopefully all of them. We should compile a list. Hmmm. I wonder if a simple question form mailed to all members of congress would work? "Are you now or have you ever been a member of or associated with any Socialist party or group, any Communist party or group or any Marxist party or group?"

If you could get a lot of Republican pols to answer the thing you could then ask the social dems why they won't answer it and perhaps get NewsMax or Rush to flame 'em until they do. Just an idea but I truly believe there are still enough real Americans in this country who would be very upset to find out their congress had actual Marxists in it.

I agree with AAABEST in #27.

If you really want to change peoples minds, I think you should stick to one issue-abortion. Abortion is the cornerstone of all left-wing politics.

Most liberals that I know (especially women) say they are against abortion but support a woman's right to choose abortion. However, most of these people have never bothered to seek an opposing argument. They tend to accept as gospel whatever they hear from the left and they are convinced that they are right.

As long as these people feel this way, they will never vote for a conservative candidate regardless of how bad the liberal candidate is. I would keep the pamphlet brief and avoid using any religious references because even the slightest reference to God or morals will be enough for many of these people to simply throw the pamphlet away.

Stick to hard scientific facts and figures and focus on the lies that are being forced fed to them by the abortion camp.

A good place to start might be with the lies organizations like NOW and Planned Parenthood are telling them about how their tax dollars are being used in places like China under their one child policy. These Chinese woman are not given a choice and if these organizations were truly for "choice" they would be against such heinous policy. They are not. In fact, they support it.

I've followed several good links from this board on just this topic and I know there are many more.

If you can debunk one or two the mainstream arguments in favor of abortion without making it a religious or moral issue, I think your pamphlet will do what you want. Provided you can get people to read it.

I would also suggest large printing and again, be sure that everything in it is easily verifiable as true.

Of course, many of these people will not actually change party affiliation but like anyone that has been lied to, they will take action to get rid of the people who have been telling them the lies.

At least, that's my take.

mister just stress this; left democrats believe in giving people the moon and the stars off the government, the only dirty little secret is the government has no money of its own, no secret stash etc... it comes right out of your paycheck once this fact is established( and you would be shocked how many people don't know that) explain how conservative republicans stress private sector employment expanding private sector employment means all those little goodies they want the gov to do, would have even more money. The abortion issue is tough as there are very strong opinions on both sides, but other then that heres a stat for ya Washington DC receives more funding then any other school district in america and has the second lowest SAT scores, and they haven't allowed a conservative on the school board in 30 years, education you can really hit them between the eyes on, as well as the obvious military issues, the one thing left democrats really fear is the so called "God Squad" mentality for as religious as many of us here are, how many times have we been painted as extremists, explain how its the left that wants freedom of speech silenced aka campaign finance and that many us while holding strong beliefs don't push them on people and hate you simply because you believe differently despite what Gary Bauer(who endorsed John Mccain)and got 1 percent of the vote says.

I say: "Conservatives are the people who can read the Constitution, and have the nerve to think it means exactly what it says." Does that help?

It begins, but doesn't go far enough. In fact, the problem with the liberals is that they don't believe in anything universal.Which is what your post addresses. They think that what the constitution meant when it was written is different than what it means today, and that tomorrow it will mean something different again. This relativism, when applied to the law,is known as positivism. It gives us the "living" constitution. The whole notion of "strict constructionists" in constitutional scholarship is a farce."Constructionist" is the name they apply to those, who like you say, read the constitution, and think it means exactly what it says.(And we're still mostly speaking the same language!Imagine the mess with half a dozen languages as official languages!).

The roots,I believe, are to be found in the anti-religious movements.God gives us universal laws, from which our nation's founding documents spring.A rejection of God gives us the idea that anyone's ideas are as good as anyone else's,that only elitists would try to insist that there are universal truths. The past century of existential philosophy(those wonderful folks that gave us the Nazis),taught at our country's universities,is largely to blame.I believe we must concentrate our efforts on these college age people,as the ideology of those who are over, say thirty,is too deeply embedded.

"Great idea. Lets work on this list."

Any word yet on getting Dave Ellswick for the next meeting? Maybe he could give us some input on how to publicize this stuff. There are too many wishy washy people with voting rights. It becomes quite important to drill at least one shocking fact into their dull little brains.

""Are you now or have you ever been a member of or associated with any Socialist party or group, any Communist party or group or any Marxist party or group?"

And you can be certain they won't answer. Look at how hard Hillary worked to cover up her thesis singing the praises of communism and her veneration of Sol Alinsky. They really believe all this garbage, but they know that the words "communism," "Marxism" and "socialism" still have negative connotations for many, albeit not enough, Americans.

Try this web site: Democratic Socialists of America . Or anyone claiming to be a member of the Progressive Caucus of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Thanks. That's a good start. FYI- Progressive Caucus website

Some of the members it lists:

Barbara Lee (Vice Chair) (OFFICER, CALIFORNIA-09)
Cynthia McKinney (OFFICER, GEORGIA-04)
Henry Waxman (MEMBER, CALIFORNIA-29)
Maxine Waters (MEMBER, CALIFORNIA-35)
Nancy Pelosi (MEMBER, CALIFORNIA-08)
John Lewis (MEMBER, GEORGIA-05)
Sheila Jackson-Lee (MEMBER, TEXAS-18)
Jesse Jackson, Jr (MEMBER, ILLINOIS-02)
John Conyers (MEMBER, MICHIGAN-14)
Paul Wellstone (OFFICER, MINNESOTA)
The list goes on...

Some of the usual suspects here.

Another good resource I found was the Political Graveyard.

Bingo. The progressive caucus lays it all out for us. That's right on the democratic socialists of America's website. Blatantly obvious. Got their names right there. If you hit any of the three links at the bottom of the page the next pages even have the dem socialists emblem as wallpaper. Unfrickingbelievable. Thanks for that link.

Thanks for link. You really did your research. There are so much information that we need to make the yellow-dog demos wake up. We all need to work together and share info on so many subjects. Should we start an information thread with people posting information they need or questions they want answers to? There are some very informed Freepers; therefore, it would save time for a lot of us.
