"...he (Gov. Davis) noted that illegal immigrants Negro slaves benefit the California economy.

"The cost of food cotton.... (is) being subsidized by people 3/4 of a person who do the work that Americans will no longer do, no longer need to do", he said.

******

******************

Isn't the same mentality that fostered slavery in the 19th century?

Do the fat, dumb and happy "open border freaks" think that there isn't a 21st century Sparticus toiling in some Fortune 50 sweat shop at this very moment?

Some day they're gunna' rip your heart out, Jack...

WHAT YOU SAY MAKES A LOT OF SENSE TO ME.

On the other side of the coin, California has plenty of wood, hay and stubble stuck in God's craw about it. I think the State will need all the brownie points it can muster. But mostly I'm just playing with ideas when I say that. I think it's true. But I don't think much done at a State level is going to help California now. The die is tooooo cast.

Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps if 70% or so put on sackcloth and ashes and repented loudly on every media outlet and forum they could for 40 days straight, it MIGHT turn God's hand from what He has scheduled for California. But I wouldn't want to bet the farm on it. Besides, that's not exactly the most likely thing in the universe to happen by ANY stretch of the imagination anyway.

"I do not blame immigrants for breaking American law. They're just trying to improve their children's lot."

So if I rob a bank, and can show that it was just to 'improve my children's lot', I can get off scott free?

Cool.

Davis has truly stabbed Kalifornians in the back. He was elected on his promise to defend Prop 187 in court, and then as soon as he was elected, reneged on that promise after striking a deal with the President of Mexico. Now he wants Californians to subsidize illegal aliens. I say we round em up.

Great. Well, since you think this is such a great idea, you can go ahead and pay for my share of this. You see, I have bills to pay, silly little things like rent, food, utilities, etc. You know, trivial stuff. In fact, I need to return to school myself and am not sure how I am going to pay for it. They already take a third of my paycheck, why not more? It is a shame that I am such a terrible person that I would rather support myself and remain independent vs. paying for the education of foreign citizens and lawbreakers. How selfish of me. Gray will be happy to get your check, I'm sure. Send payments to Governor Gray Davis, State Capitol, Sacramento CA 95814. Thanks.

I wonder how long before Atlas Shrugged becomes a 100% reality, we are well on our way there.

Why bother to keep working and follow the law when you only get punished for it?

I would add "why should citizens respect the law?"

Citizens should respect the law because it is their duty to do so, even if politicians shirk their duties in that regard. As to why citizens should respect the illegitimate unconstitutional statutes, ordinances, regulations, etc. that these politicians put forth, that's because the politicians have guys with guns who will destroy anyone who doesn't show proper respect for their statutes, ordinances, and regulations.
