The quote you are referencing was made by an environmentalist, not a forester. All of the foresters (except one research guy) have been quoted saying that the trees are dead or will be, and they should be cut.

I am suspicious of expert opinion as well, mainly because I believe government funding of research has corrupted many so-called experts in acadamia.

Thanks for the link Ben, I'll forward it to other foresters. The guy who wrote the article says he wants to see the pendulum keep swinging to the enviromental side. This guy has no idea that it already has...maybe when the road to his favorite fishing hole is decommissioned it will dawn on him what has happened.
