So your answer is to keep the borders open forever to ILLEGAL ALIENS so we can double, triple, quadruple their population yet again.

They'll stop coming when they are no longer needed. Wanna wash my car? ;)

Your neighborhood might be assimilating. It's not happening here, we have people who have lived here over 20 years who have never bothered to learn English and they don't teach it to their children either. The school my kids attend has as many kids in Spanish classrooms as there are in English classrooms ---the other schools nearby are even worse. I drove by one and the school announcements over the PA were being given in Spanish.

If they'll stop when they aren't needed ---why are they still moving into areas of high welfare and high unemployment? Fresno county in CA is a good example. A 12% welfare rate, high unemployment and many illegals. It makes no sense they are going there if it's only for work. Same thing here, we have huge unemployment and welfare and yet many are moving here from Mexico.

The Texas democrat gubernatorial race will be debated in Spanish. Not a bilingual debate but all Spanish debate and the candidates are already accusing the other of not being Hispanic enough.

LOL! This pandering is pathetic....

Meanwhile Perry is off trying to learn Spanish as fast as he can ---it's not going to be about issues, it'll be on whose Spanish is the best.

Don't assume Hispanics don't care for issues. In fact, they can be quite passionate.

Hispanics will vote...FACT.
Who would you rather they to vote for?
Much of your (and many others) time at FR is spent pushing them towards the left.

I know how they are on issues ---where I live they were very supportive of both the Clintons. They'd vote for him again today if he ran.

If the illegals only were coming for jobs, they'd go to places that had low unemployment but obviously they are not. The area here is being classified as an economic disaster area in need of huge amounts of federal money and yet 1 out of 4 people here are from Mexico. They certainly can't be coming here for jobs ---everyone else is leaving the area because there are no jobs.

Assimilation is occurring in my SoCal neighborhood. How about yours?

I'm sure it is as taxpaying citizens by the thousands flee your neighborhood each month. LOL. I'll bet your idea of assimilation and mine are light years apart.

Those are tech jobs, quit being sneaky.
I'll bet there's still a long line at In-N-Out.

I don't assume every Hispanic is an immigrant. The ones whose families have been here for 4-5 generations or much longer are Conservatives and many voted for Reagan. Those people have very good values and strong families. Many of the people coming from Mexico though don't, they have a high illegitimacy rate, dropout rate, and don't seem conservative in any way.

I think the city of Fresno has a 25% welfare rate. Once the poor immigrants come into an area (like they did in the city of Fresno) that area is pretty much off-limits as far as housing is concerned. There are still some nice places in Fresno but they are surrounded by poor neighborhoods. That's how America "loses" territory, a piece of America just "disappears" into the void because most middle-class people do not want to live there.

There's not many jobs here of any kind. I'm not talking about tech jobs ---this area is gaining population and losing jobs very fast. The low tech jobs went to Mexico ---but immigration is higher than ever.

My house worth has risen steadily for the four-ish years I've been here. No one is fleeing from around here.
