Those boom boom sound systems that today's youth enjoy shaking up the neighborhood with (literally). I would LOVE to invent a disabler for those things.

I'd Un invent the Internationalists who are convincing the masses that supporting the UN, GATT, NAFTA, WTO and all those other acronyms are GOOD for the US when in fact they are all about a loss of sovereignty and self determination for Americans.

Diamond Lanes. Oops I think getting rid of socialism would take care of diamond lanes (also stupid drivers as there would be no trial lawyerse to justify their erronous driving)

hypocrisy..not sure if that fits since it isn't an invention but that would certainly be the first thing I would eliminate ...if it were possible.

Chewing gum. A more disgusting habit I have never come across. Masticating a wad of gum for hours like a cow chewing it's cud? Where is the attraction?

A friend of mine in Atlanta built a electronic device that jammed the speakers of those cars as they drove by his house. It created a loud screech. The problem was the screech was as annoying as the as the original booms.

call waiting

Phone trees! The Fox comedy In Living Color, that was on a few years ago, once did a skit with a woman phoning the police because she heard someone breaking into her apartment. It fades and comes back to the same woman, tied up with the phone cradled to her ear, listening to the phone tree. If the intruder is a black male, press one; if the intruder is an hispanic male, press two (etc). It was really funny.

Other choices of mine would be:

Leaf blowers. Exactly why were these things invented. They are noisy as h**l and do nothing but push the problem (leaves) from one area onto another. You still end up with a soggy pile of stinky leaves someplace.

Rap music. If I never, ever heard this s**t again it would be too soon. I have, however, come to an understanding about why Rap artists are so violent, because after 3-5 seconds of exposure to this stuff, I know I'm ready to beat the c**p out of someone.
