I know a young African American woman who graduated Princeton a few years ago (Toni Morrison is tenured there). This young woman told me that Morrison has few fans on campus--she will not give anyone there the time of day.

Willing George, the water boy knows on which side his bread is buttered. He follows orders. If the NY spin masters order a 'hit' on a certain group, he is one of those who eagerly oblige.

It's hard to give credibility to any of these debauched New Yorkie 'elite' publications and their minions. Witness how the NYT favorite historians are dropping like flies because of their now revealed plagiarism. These New Yorkies have no principles.

Yeah,but I thought Spinks would be a better fit on any list that included Kissinger. I never thought that guy was smart enough to come in out of the rain,and never could figure out why anybody thought any different. Must have been the glasses and accent.

Whad'ya expect? I argued with some maroon here recently who kept insisting that the top grossing movie list was a measurement of quality. The bestseller lists and lists are a very Amrican phenomenon. It's disappointing, isn't it, that Posner would fall for this game (unless he's playing it only to earn a paycheck, but still.) The lists as measurements of anything except the lowest common denominator are contemptible beyond words to begin with, sorry.

Well, you and I agree on Henry. He always looked and sounded like an intellectual should, but I always thought his press was way overstated. He proves the basic rule of the media: anyone they like, be very, very careful about, even if the individual occasionally says things that make sense.
